View Full Version : buyin a 240 with a blowen head gasket?

alright so im about to buy 90 240sx with 130000 miles on it. it has a tein suspention and a apex n1 exhaust. act clutch and a short shifter! the only problem with the car is that the head gasket is blowen and itll turn over but not start! and its primed! hes askin 2 for it! im really wantin to buy it but im jus worried about the head gasket? if the head is wraped or wat soo! wat should i do?

Running car is more important than the mods on the car. Car runs, you get to have fun, car doesn't run, well, you are fucked.

you should buy it if you are sure you can fix it for however much money you are willing to spend on it.

you shouldn't buy it if you don't know jack about cars, don't know how to fix cars, have no tools and have no experience fixing cars and you are not really willing to invest the time and money learning.

2 grand is $1200 too much for a car like that. 89-90 = the suck. You'll spend another grand replacing all the worn brake/suspension components just to get it back to OE spec.

if its just a blown headgasket and you can replace that yourself then your loooking at like 300 bucks...you can get a greddy from that one compnay selling them on here for 250 I think...but its hella expensive if your gonna pay a shop to change it...its a PITA...
