What is the origin of the term "strawberry face"? I know that it's used to refer to the S15 front end look, but why strawberry face? I vaguely remember reading or being told that it has to do with the way fifteen is pronounced in Japanese, but I don't understand the correlation.

ichi = number 1
go = number 5
ichi-go = 1-5
ichigo = strawberry (in japanese)

yeah but in Japan they don't call an S15 Ichi Go it's simply fifteen..just like
180's are called one eighties and 14's are called fourteens..if you go into a part store or performance shop and say Sylvia Ichigo they will most likey have no clue what you are talking about...

that's why it's sort of a pun.
i've heard the same explanation.
ichi=1
go=5
that's along the lines of the hachi roku
hachi=8
roku=6
but hachi-roku isn't anything else in japanese besides the respective numbers, so that's why it only works for the strawberry face ichigo.

The japanese love their puns.
But yes
1 = Ichi
5 = Go
S15 = esu-ichi-go

Ok, thanks for the info. I knew it had something to do with the numbers.
