What is as good or better in terms of reliability, speed, affordability and style than a 240sx with a SR20DET motor set. I don't plan to drift a lot so I don't want to be a ricer and own a 240sx but not drift. I'm more into drag racing, so is there a better car out there for me or should I still get a 240sx? This will be a daily driven car. Also please, no Civics.

+1. The Fox Body 'Stang is one of the best starter drag cars out there. Usually easy to find, plenty of parts, gobs of power to be had for drag racing. Just remember, when it comes to drag racing, More Fun = More $$$$$. Running 12's get's boring, add $$$, run 10's woo-hoo. Then 10's get boring, add $$$, etc., etc.

Hey man, You asked for our opinion. Aerostars are actually quick as hell. They get up and go. It would have a few things that are better than you would get with a 240. In a S13 you can comfortably fit 2.5 people, where as with the Aerostar, you can 7 people. It also has its own custom antitheft system on it (see, paint job).
Also, I know you probibly didn't like the Aerostar I posted. I am sorry that it offended you. In an effort to make it up to you, I have found another one. Hope you enjoy.

oh, and they are. just not in US. they came with N/a engine here. in japan with a turbo one. so to get in higher numbers for a 240, u gonna cash out some crop money. versus in japan u would cash out alot less since u already have a base. (regardless if u go kat, sr, lt1, 1jz, etc).

so, in US they make EXPENSIVE drag cars. so.... alot easier and CHEAPER to buy a z28 or cobra and put it in 10's.

so, dont say they are BETTER drag cars. they are not. unless u mean BETTER=HIGH $$$$

Sure you can get the wrx for drag buy why? Its awd and handles great. You can easily hit 13's with a stock sr with little to no mods. You can get a 240sx for cheap and sr swap done right for 3500 or so including install. And thats only around 5000 all together. So since you have a $10,000 budget you have 5000 dollars to play around with so add it to your suspension and 3 grand to mess with the engine or looks.

jus go with an old domestic car, they have more power for the money.

or jus go with NOOOSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS, but make sure the welds on your intake manifold don't blow, or else your floor pan will fall off.

for me, I had to decide between an LS1 and a 240sx. I'm not a huge Mustang fan and not a big Honda fan really. In the end I went with the 240sx.

you could have a mid 12 second 240sx that handles very good (much better than the LS1) for the same cost as an LS1. which will run mid 13s depending on how good of a driver you are.
