Well I havent heard of any meets lately so i figure if anyone was interested in gettin a meet together. I was thinking a bbq meet in foster city. Usually no one has gone through with this is because of the cops or parking but i dont expect this to be huge or anything. I was thinking maybe booth bay park which has a 10 car parking lot but u can park on the side streets too. It wraps around the park and hella big so yea.... another idea was over at Sea Cloud park which has alot of parking, bbq pits, and fields of grass for football soccer baseball whatever. I wanna try and get a bbq goin on so we can all reconnect and blah blah blah... i just want free food :D but besides that we can hang out and get to kno eachother more.
Leave some feed back on this.

ppl dont like to drive in big groups...especially if they dont know each other...you always here about at least one big crash that takes place during a big meet and drive...i sure dont like it...

1st big groups attract attention..sometimes good but mainly bad. 2nd lots of cars so think of dominoes not everyone knows everyone else so someone may screw up and well u get the picture. and last there are always dumbasses tryin to showoff and cause an accident thus drawing attention thus gettin us in trouble thus adding more awareness of 240s to the cops.
I was thinkin how about august 6th or july 30? the 23rd is buttonwillow so some wont be able to make it. Start out the new month of august with a meet..... how does that sound?

Well, the danger is always there when driving in the mountains. Somebody is bound to crash, regardless of how many cars there are. Just with there so many cars present the likelyhood that somebody will crash THAT day is higher. There's two driving groups for that purpose. People who want to push their cars, and people who want to just cruise. They also give you enough space to drive (experience from last year). Oh well, looks like I'll be the only 240 out, just like I was the only DSM out last year.... weaksauce....

So how about July 30th? all sounds good? 3 weeks advance or we could move it a lil later like august 6th if you guys want? Need to get the word around and stuff so lots of ppl come with some food. This can be like a potluck and stuff. Everyone needs to bring some kinda of food for at least a few ppl or give some money into a jar to make things far.
I was thinking that we bring some food, and ppl who dont can put some money into the jar and when enough ppl come, someone can drive over to safeway or albertson (2 min drive) and pick up some meat with that money and everyone will have some food. plus drinks and stuff. Just to make things fair.
Also i was thinkin mayb booth bay park cuz the part i was thinking have a wide field, a basketball court, a volleyball sand pit, tennis court, AND playground all within a 50 feet radius from the bbq pit. Parking may be a lil hard but the place is great for activities!

so i guess its kinda settled on the date then. Aug 6th it will be but now we need to discuss the place. booth bay is easy to locate and get to plus it has a great place for activities and food and place for ppl to hang out. bad thing is, theres not alot of parking close to eachother meaning u would have to park around the area and stuff but its not bad. Other option is sea cloud park which has a huge parking lot and very big grassy area but downside is i dont believe there are open bbq pits, just a football/baseball field and getting there is kinda hard. Hell i dont even kno how to get there and ive lived here all my life. Im pushing it towards booth bay and if anyone disagrees just let me know and we can take a poll.
So just for now, so u can mark your calenders.
WHEN: August 6th
WHERE: Booth Bay Park, Foster City
TIME: 10am - whenever
DIRECTIONS: MAPQUEST
This will be a potluck so bring food, if not ill have a money jar for food. Just put in a couple of dollars and someone can drive over to albertsons and pick up some meat and drinks for those who put in some money. This way ppl will get fed. ALSO bring some stuff to do like a football, basketball, volleyball, tennis rackets, dodgeballs whatever.
ALSO NO STUPID SHIT CUZ COPS ARE VERY STRICT IN THIS CITY! AS LONG AS YOU DONT DO ANYTHING STUPID THEY WONT BOTHER U!

A few things to offer:
1) Everything you've heard about how Milpitas and Fremont cops are.... they're nothing compared to FC cops. More than once I've been followed by FC cops on my way home to see if I would "screw up" as that gives them a reason to pull me over.
If you want to do it here, be smart about it. FC cops are like wolves, they pull you over in pairs (or have backup on the way), mostly because they're bored.
If any FC cops are reading this, I don't care. I don't break the law and yes, I did see you in your 3 squad cards pull over some kids on their bicycles the other day.
2) Sea Cloud park has a large parking lot for people to park together. If you want to go there, continue on the same road to Booth Bay but pass it and make a left on Pitcairn (spelling?). Go all the way down, its on your right... can't miss it.
3) Get a permit for this event. With the weather being the way it is, unless you wanna get there at 6-7 am to "hold" one of the public tables/bbq's, I suggest you contact FC's Park and Rec to buy a permit to reserve a spot. I believe its like $10-$15 at most. Might be well worth it if you show up at 10-11 am and have a place already reserved for you.
If anyone's there, show 'em the permit and kick 'em out. If they've got a problem with it, then FC Police will be on your side since you did things the legal way. (Then again, when they see a whole bunch of 240's in the lot, they might stick around).
Either are good locations as you are very close to the Albertsons up the road (you'll pass it on the way to the park) and there's also a Safeway just another mile up the road or so.
Have fun out there, enjoy the weather and hope you don't attract the "Wrong" types of people. Read into that however you want... if you take offense, you're probably the culprit. :fawk2:

Haha, Day after would work better for me. I think it's easier for me to get 2 days off in a row, than 1 day off in 2 different consecutive weekends. Management sucks.. never anybody to replace you.

1) Very VERY VERY TRUE! As i and aaron have stated before, FC cops are total hardasses...sometimes. They really protect the city and make sure everything is safe here but they get really bored and pull u over for the smallest thing.
I remember one summer when i was a freshman in highschool, a cop pulled me over ON MY BICYCLE for not wearing a helmet and threatened to give me a ticket. Ive also seen people get jay walking tickets. If you get pulled over, expect at least 2 cop cars to be there and a minimum of 4 cops. They do make things safe, but they get bored easily. Just dont do anything stupid.
2)sea cloud is also a great spot cuz parking would not be a problem since its huge. i just suggested boothbay cuz of the courts and available activity grounds they have. But now i think about it, sea cloud sounds better for a meet.
3) Sounds good. Ill go over to the rec center sometime and get a permit or something but first i need to get a exact date and stuff. People need to chip in .25 to help pay for the cost cuz im broke :duh:
Also where do u live aaron? Have we met before cuz ive lived in FC since 86 and ive never heard anything about you. I only kno daniel and nan and some guy that lives on marlin ave with a red hatch (never met that guy cuz i never see that person around). We should meet up sometime and get to know eachother :D
... jon?? hahaha wtf i didn't kno u were back
????? yea im back but who is you? calvin?
Haha, Day after would work better for me. I think it's easier for me to get 2 days off in a row, than 1 day off in 2 different consecutive weekends. Management sucks.. never anybody to replace you.
anyways im thinking about sunday since not too many ppl will have work. we can easily request this day off. and its not the same day as that other bbq. so ill test the waters and say:
When: August 7th 2005
Place: Sea Cloud Park
Time: 10-whenever
Mapquest Info: Foster City, CA (bay area) 94404
Requirements: Food and/or drinks, otherwise u will need to donate into the jar so we can run out to get food for you. ($2 - whatever). This is just to be fair so everyone will chip in for food and drinks. If you dont plan to eat or drink anything at least $1 would be nice cuz imma get a permit to reserve this place plus im pretty sure ull want to get some water or soda from being out there and stuff. (All leftover money can be used towards something later that day or we can donate it or something. For instance, if we go out to watch a movie, however many are left we split the money and ppl will get part of their ticket paid from the jar. This way we can all benefit from the jar :D )
