I installed my apexi turbo timer about a month ago with the wire that supposed to go to the parking brake grounded with the black ground wire, and a couple decided to connect it to the parking brake as it should be. So I took the wire and spliced it into the ebrake wire under the center console; however when I take the key out and release the emergency brake the car stays running and doesn't shut off as it should. I also noticed that my emergency brake light in the gauge cluster is not lit when it is engaged. I searched and found that many people had a problem getting the light on but found no one who's light would not come on. Has anyone else had this problem or have any ideas as to what could be going wrong with the brake wiring? Thanks in advance!

all the ebrake does (as far as wiring goes) is connect a ground when its pulled into the up position, make sure this hasnt been cut and that spring on it is still working(the spring pushes the wire into the ground)

thanks, I've checked the spring and the mechanism that touches the screw to the brake, and it works correctly.... so this means that the wire in its current state must be grounded somewhere else, with or without the ebrake engaged? right??

And if thats the case it doesn't matter that the light in the gauge cluster works or not, the timer should work with the grounding and ungrounding of the ebrake wire?

If the warning light isn't working chances are the ebrake switch isn't either. Manually ground the wire and see if the light trips, if not double check the bulb. If still nothing then it's been cut somewhere between the console and the dash. Wire is yellow/purple, check for continuity between both points.

ok, I haven't checked the ebrake wire yet for ground....

but I cut my car off and left it running without the key in the ignition and then pulled the wire coming from the turbo timer (the grey wire that is supposed to connect to the ebrake wire) so it wasn't connected to anything, and nothing happened, the timer still continued to keep the car running and count down the time. I thought that since the wire was no longer grounded then the timer would cut off???

Do I have the timer programmed incorrectly or am I missing some wiring?
