8 inch will work for sure..so I am guessing that 8.5 will work but be a stretch..

I'm currently running 205/50/16 on an 8" rim and it's hardly stretched at all.

So yeah, it's cake.

I think proper tire sizes are the sex. If you are going to invest in wide wheels made for wide tires, why run little baby fwd 205's? 225's man!

205 45 would not be a good idea the bead might have a good seat, i dont see the main purpose of using a tire that small on a nice sized wheel. However a taller profile tire will make it fit on a wider wheel since the tire sidewalls are able to stretch farther out. im sure you can use a 205 50 or 55s instead but a 45 series will have to stiff of a side wall to stretch that far.

it's do-able. A friend had a set done yesterday. 205's on a 8.5 and 215's on a 9. Equip 03 rims for a hachi. Used Toyos proxes and T1s. It takes some work though. Be prepared if you have to wait a day to get it done.

well, i know that 205/50/16 on 16x8.5 is possible because i seem many pic but for 205/45 which side wall is less. that y i asked if anyone actually done it. the reason why i am asking is my friend could sell me his new falken off of his work rsz-r off(which is for sale by the way) of his type r. So I could get some tires just for the reason i need them for, daily driving. but i wanna make sure they fit. if they don't then i'll just put it on the front and get wider tires for the rear.

well more feedback is welcome.

well I have 205/40's on my 9j rims, so that should clear up ANY question about whether they will work. And what's more is that they were the some of the easiest tires I've had to mount. Cake. took like 2 mins a piece. I have at least 10 wheels/tires a day that take 10x more effort to mount and get the beads to seal.

I have 215's on a 9JJ. It took the tire guy 2 minutes each to install.

btw that's a 215-40-17..

OK, I just want to make sure that Im down with what all of the cool people are doing these days...The whole really skinny tires on fat wheels is a drifting thing, right?
(As you can probably tell by that question Im not really into drifting, Im one of those wierd 240 outcast people into brutal amounts of traction and autocrossing and canyon runs, etc)

my buddy put the 205/50s on his r33 wheels because he still drifts a stock ka... smaller patch on the gorund=easier to slide.. also he is running tein ha's @ a low low low setting, even after rolling his fenders he still needed clearance so he has to strech tires
