Does anyone have any experience with ebay timing components? If this is a bad idea, from where do you reccomend buying a new kit?

I am about to do my install on a SOHC 89. I got it off Ebay in haste from a seller who shipped it over night. Even though its been almost a month since I bought it but I will be doing my install tomorrow. The parts I got were in a factory sealed package from Beck Arnley World Parts. I've never heard of the company but I plan on ditching my KA for an Sr20 by next month.... I just want to do my timing chain since it's making that annoying rattle and my exhaust farts too much. I'll let you know how the install goes and how the engine runs afterwards..... p.s. If you need parts for your 240 suspension between the years 89-94 I got some goodies on Ebay under my Ebay name 180sxprelude. :gives: I know, but still, gotta plug it.

Beck arnley has very good oem quality parts, I work for a auto parts ware house and a good 40% of the parts are made by beck arnley. Since i get an employee discount I replace all my worn out parts on my cars with beck arnley parts and am satisfied with the quality, no failures or anything.

what i have been told:
beck-arnley is not so much a manufacturer as a sourcing firm, and often they source the parts from the OEM manufacturer, rebadge and sell them.
Sort of like Megan Racing & Apex'I with the coilovers.

either way, its good shit. The warehouse i work for sell parts to atleast 50 shops in the area. These shops order parts dozens of times a day, a great deal are beck/arnley. Whether they are sourced from other companys, we have never had any problems because of poor quality.

Thats what I call service :) I really dont think Ebay is a bad store but I wouldnt trust it at the same time. Why? Private owners or companys try to fake it and sell you something that might now be reliable. I still think twice about Ebay... :-/

Well, I posted earlier that I had received A Beck Arnley Timing chain kit for my 240sx and that I was going to install it these past few days. Well, I just decided I am going to go ahead and get my SR20DET instead.... seeing how it would be pointless to do a timing chain install on an engine that will only be in my car for another 3 weeks. So to make this short, I am trying to sell A Timing chain kit for the 89-90 Nissan 240sx hatchback/coupe with the KA24E SOHC engine. If anyone is interested I am selling it.... email me for pics. I'm asking $115.00 shipped. Thanks, James
