i was thinking about this, and i know the difference is longevity and spool, but how much quicker spool is a BB center? is it sort of a bling factor? because my turbo may have fell through on the GT2871R .86, and i was wondering if it would be much different from say a SC50 or GT3251E these of course are higher power turbos... but in all relativity. I've seen dyno's where the GT2871 will spool ~400rwhp @ 4500rpm and i was curious what type of poerband the journal bearings would give? Also, the price difference is like $400+ I would appreciate the help.

Few hundred RPM, from what I've read.

And the biggest difference is the transitional response, no so much initial spool.

how do you mean transitional response? such as when shifting, and it spooling when exhaust is already flowing high?

also, please keep in mind that a journal bearing turbo can be rebuilt easily and cost-effectively, but a ball-bearing turbo costs a LOT more to rebuild.
