I was pinked for 3 months for doing something stupid =], anyhoo just thought id post some progress, i was in a car accident, some woman pulled out into me while i was doing about 50(speed limit)
http://www.teamhpi.org/s14/fuckedup/damnit.jpg
broke headlight, bumper, brand new tire, brand new sold tension rod, fucked up my rim, and broke my LCA
after replacing all that i gave into the dark side, as i have always been in love with the s15

i know i will catch alot of flack for straying from my kouki hotness, but i just caved, i love both front ends but eh, whats done is done, it needs a little tweaking and some prep(all done by me) before being panted.
On top of that i finally installed my carputer

i made the lcd panel out of the original radio trim/lcd trim/fiber glass/bondo
and last by not least!

I installed a gt28rs (disco potato), im currently on stock injectors/maf/ecu so im running ~10psi and not pushing it, if u wanna see all the install pics and my ghetto pepboys intake just poke around the directory

I like the carputer, was thinking of something along those lines to house mp3's/ stand alone software when the day comes.

T25 is perfect actually very little shaft play, ran strong.
I just blew my turbo gasket and i have this problem of finding the smallest reason to upgrade, plus its what i planned on doing in about a month or two.

right now it houses 35gb of mp3's, has wifi, i havent installed GPS yet, but i just orderd a consult interface so i'll be creating some custom software to get some ECU readouts (rpm, speed, throttle, injector pulse, timing, etc.)

I see. (silly me thinking T28! Just glanced at black valve cover in a kouki S14 and thought regular old S14 SR... :keke: )
Yeah, I've been down that road before.

how does the carputer put up with bumps and such? No skipping or anything? Also, I'd be worried about the inside of the car getting very hot on summer days if left outside. Maybe I'm just paranoid and computer parts aren't that fragile. No problems yet?

so far, bumps are NOT a problem, however, im experiencing some power issues, though I believe its my car and not the hardware, i have no locked up/rebooted once going over a bump, no skips at all, and my suspension is pretty rough, im using a 60gb laptop harddrive. The inside of my car (black on black) gets pretty hot here in NY and i havent had any problems yet, its pretty ventilated in there with no stereo =]

standard mini itx mobo, dc->dc psu with itps power condition, laptop harddrive, touch screen lcd, all bought off ebay for under ~500, the case is just some lexan i got from home depot and molded with a heat gun, you can do it cheaper but i doubt it will fit behind the dash like mine

For your carputer, what are you going to use to control it, because all I see is the LCD screen. Is it a touch screen?
Great idea BTW :rawk:
