hey guys this weekend my friend and I did a r134a conversion to my 1992 s13 hatchback and then recharged freon. but the air still isnt cold and the ac light doesnt appear on, the freon isnt leaking and the compressor is fine. my question is asking if anyone knows anything about this or have had this problem? thanx

That's weird...sounds like you don't have enough refridgerant to get any pressure. Did you check the pressures/ make sure you have the right amount in there?

what would happen if we put too much instead of not enough?

Same as if you have too little, it won't work right, too much pressure, you are probably freezing the lines. Have you hooked gauges up to it to check the pressures?

Too much pressure or to little pressure will cause the pressure switch(located on the drier) to prevent the compressor clutch from engageing.

This will also cause the light on the a/c button to not lite up.

You may want to evacuate the freon and try recharging it with as close to 2lbs of freon as you can.

ok so i took my car to some tech and he told me it was a electrical problem and i have freon and the compressor is fine. so do you guys have any suggestions to where i should start? anyone have a problem like this before?- thanks
