root beer vs other soda

how come in restaurants, soda comes from the machine, costs $1.50, you get it in a glass and usually has free refills, but root beer (which is a kind of soda) comes in a bottle, costs $4, and doesn't have free refills?

at the restaurent I used to manage we had an organic root beer that we sold for $2.50 a bottle, it cost us about $1.75 a bottle if I remember right... thats why.. The other stuff you get in a cup is mixed from bag in a box (syrup), co2, and water.. bag in a box, the bigger boxes, are a couple hundred but you get a hell of a lot of cups out of them, like 1000 or so...

A&W Long John Silvers has a separate root beer tap, and most restaurants here in San Antonio have RB available as any other soda would. :confused:

I once went to Starbucks with a chick ( I don't drink caffene) and picked up a rootbeer and pounded it before I got to the register, to maintain my food within my stomach, all the while I hadn't realized what I just drank was a damn 6 dollar bottle of rootbeer!

I felt like punching that trendy bitch in the throat... Tasted like crapy barqs too. A/W is the end of all RB.

yeah the lady would say "can i see some id?" and i'd say "what for?" and she'd look at the 6-pack again and see the ROOT before the BEER and say "oh"

or i'd say "what for?" and she'd say "for the alcohol" and i'd say "what alcohol?" and she'd lift up the 6-pack and say "isn't this yours?" and i'd say "yeah...that isn't alcohol though" and she'd look real hard and try to understand.

i'm pretty sure it's the "henry weinhard's" written on there that throws em off. i guess they dunno henry's makes root beer and cream soda.

I like root beer, it's my favorite pop. You can get a 6pack of IBC here for 2.50. I hate restaurants that charge that much for a single bottle. I just get Dr. Pepper or something.

thats not for all restaurants, but yes i hate it when restaurants only have IBC rootbeer. CHILI'S :rl: cuz then im forced to just sip on it, instead of chugging.

A&W > MUG > Barq's > rootbeer > all other sodas
