Im putting a tomei 2-way into a 1990 open differential. So far i've pulled the pumpkin out and takenn off the cover. I was wondering if any of you guys had a picture of diagram of how the LSD goes in?... I dont want to mess anything up. Also what are the shims?

Remove all the bolts. Pop out the output shafts with a pry par(pops right out). Install is the exact opposite. It's going to be difficult to install the shims(use same shims). So make sure you get your bearings pressed in nice, tight and even. Good luck.

So what are the shims? How do they look like. I've read on here that I wasnt supposed to get the shims mixed or somthing.

Shims are spacers(huge washer) to keep the diff aligned with the pinon gear.

Also I heard some people measure the backlash. And some dont. Is it really needed?

Ok I got another problem. I cant seem to get the diff out of the pumpkin. I already took the 4 17mm bolts that where holding down the bearings and ive tried pulling the diff out and it wont budge.. any ideas?

Pry bar!! It's going to be just as difficult, if not more difficult installing the shims. Careful that you do not mix up the shims!
