Hey everyone, i tried usin the search option but wouldn't work... sorry if this has already been discussed.  I appreciate any input... thanks!

Ok, I'm standing in front of my car and this is what the numbers are:
    Windshield
Engine
|   4|
|   3|
|   2|
|   1| coil
&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;, &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;<---represents the right nut of dist cap
&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; (1 2) &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;
&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; (3 4) &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;
&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;` &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; <---represents the left nut of dist cap
&nbsp; &nbsp; Radiator
Ok, so I drew it kinda precise cuz I wanna be sure the wires on the cap are in proper place. &nbsp;Why I showed the left and right nut of the distributor cap is because they are vertically aligned, but the chilton's manual shows them as horizontally aligned.
Here's my problem now. The car was starting up 'n runnin fine but I lacked power. So I checked my spark plugs and the first one had carbon build up on it and was a little wet and smelt like fuel! So it came to me to check the firing order, and the wires on the cap were completely wrong. it displayed like this from the front of the car:
2 1
4 3
After changing the order, my car isn't starting. Did I do it right? When I crank it for a few seconds, I hear pops from the muffler. Should I keep on crankin until it starts, this since the 1st plug is wet?
please help, i gotta goto work tomorrow morning <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

haha. &nbsp;Funny you say the chiltons manual is wrong... because I had the same prob. &nbsp;I pulled the wires, didnt rememeber the order. &nbsp;So I ran to the manual... and it had a couple of drawings. It shows:

----
(1, 2)
(3, 4)
----

Does anybody know what else has been wrong with the chiltons book? &nbsp;Cuz Im doing alot of basic tune-up this week on the car. &nbsp;ALSO, beware that the AIV description is totally off as well!

Thanks.
Jay

pssshh, i don't think i've ever obtained any useful information from the chilton's book. &nbsp;first that dumb sentra on the cover just annoys me and then the instructions are so generalized to apply to the VG, CA, KA24(D)E and other engines... i truly hate this book now!
