Okay.....I just bought a nismo 2 way from teamslideshow since he got a new car with a j30 diff and didnt need it anymore. I do everything so its not like i dont know how to work on a car....ive just never dealt with diffs before.

Do you have to measure anything with the nismo for open diffs? It would be great if someone could just briefly go over how to go about it. Anybody thats done it have any advice? I was looking on drifting.com somewhere and the people from kaaz(even though i know i dont have a kaaz) said that while in the break in process...youre supposed to push the clutch in while turning on those damn figure 8s. anybody ever heard that? I need some input.

with the nismo you break it in differently. just read the manual it says 180miles of normal driving then change the fluid. remember nismo is synthetic, kaaz is organic. don't mix them up. your first mistake was drifting.com and yah just place the shims in the same order that they came out in, rarely has anyone required shimming to have the backlash with in reasonable tolerance levels. and since it seems like you might have bought a used lsd. there is no break-in procedure required(if I read your statement correctly)
