ok, first of i want to apologize in advance for asking a question that has been asked a thousand times over. i did search, but didn't find a definite guide on how to make my reverse lights work. i am bad with wiring, but good with mechanical stuff (thats why i am a ME not EE) I am sure many of you have gotten your reverse lights to work after the 5 speed swap on a sr20det s13. what wires need to go where? what needs to be spliced? what colors are the wires?
thanks guys,
i appreciate it

WWW.KA24DEVELOPMENT.COM Has a thorough instructions. You don't actually need them though. I got too lazy and didn't look / find the sensor to fix it. Thought it is not for the SR, the sensors should be around the same place.

my car is a s13, the tutorial is for a s14. looking at the pictures i discovered that the s14 has 4 plugs on top of one another, and the s13 has only three. they tell me to connect the two wires from the sensor to ANY (which is bizzare) wires on the third plug down. which plug is the third one on an s13. i obviously need more detailed instructions to make my incompetent wiring skills be of any use. anyone with a s13 actually make this modification work? if yes, how?

check the FSM for your car.. (available for download on this forum somewhere) and it'll tell you which wires next to the fuse box are for your reverse lights.

well there should be 2 of them.. to complete the circuit.. you'll have to run wires to the sensor on the tranny and just wire it up. there's only one way to do it right haha.. so cut 2 lengths of wire.. about 4-5 ft maybe.. splice them to the 2 wires from the fuse box connector and the other ends.. run them down to the tranny reverse light sensor and BAM!! DONE

has ANYBODY gotten their lights to work? anybody at all? i think we are all using the wrong connectors... On the train back to Philly i was thinking about those damn reverse lights. I believe that there are two sets of 4 plugs comming from the fuse box. And we are using the upper set ( atleast i am) but i think we have to use the lower 4. The 4th connector of the lower 4 is the MT connector that the tranny harness is supposed to connect to (i believe), and the 3rd is for the reverse lights of the AT. With that said, looking at the lower 4 connectors, splice the wires from the reverse light switch to the 3rd connector down. I would try this myself but my car is about 30 miles away from me until WED. I have tried everything else and this is my last attempt. When looking at the confusing and stupid wiring diagrams it seems that this could never work but MIGHT AS WELL TRY.

my reverse lights work perfectly. and yes..the 3rd connector down.. the green and black wires are the reverse light wires.. everything else can be pulled out of the plug
