I was wondering if anybody could tell me if the 95 mm Apexi GT Spec Exhaust is over kill for a mildly tuned sr? Have stock turbo and injectors, but have intake, fmic, downpipe, headers and test pipe(soon). Will I loose alot more low end than say your average 3 inch or 80 mm? And, also if anybody owns one, what's it sound like...too loud or deep?

gt spec is the most gangster sounding exhaust ever. i've heard it on s13 and fc. it's crazy. when i heard it on the fc, i thought the motor had some insane porting job and crazy shit done to it. but it was stock.

I'm sure my friend will pipe in, he's got an SR with basic bolt on's and had an SSautochrome exhaust, then bought a GT spec. The differance was amazing, I tell ya. The GT spec is freaking amazing.

Var had the 95mm on his s13 with stock t25. Sounds NICE, he still made decent power too.

What about when silenced? Pretty quiet compared to others??
It would be cool to intimidate those v8'rs, but need to be quiet for the po-pos. Eventually i would want to upgrade to the range of about 350hp, but just don't want to be lacking too much bottom-end on my way up to those numbers.

http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a133/srpowered240sx/newsignature.jpg i had a janky homemade exhaust before i got the swap, then with the swap it sounded like crap. i got the gt, because i am a dealer for apexi i got the gt for less than the n1 3 weeks faster. best decision i ever made. 3" down pipe, 3" test pipe, and 3.74" the rest of the way. ridiculously good sound, surprisingly quiet at idle. my brother was skating in town when i went by him, blasted through first and second between two buildings, he said it sounds like a damn jet taking off. amazing.

I think you've just sold me srpowered240sx!!! Excellent choice of words. SOLD. If it really sounds that aggressive, but then silences down at idle, that would be perfect.

You will not be disappointed with the GT Spec. It's a great exhuast system. I have it on my s14 and it sounds great. :)

it installed in about an hour, just because i decided to try running open downpipe for a while, but got over that and came right back to put the system on. i started it with the silencer first, but that got ripped out before i even left the garage. never put it back in, actually, i sold it to a guy with an hks system that needed it to get a fix it ticket signed off. the funny part is, ive been pulled over about 6 times with the exhaust; got a speeding ticket, exhibition of speed ticket, searched twice(passenger on probation), and 4 fix it tickets, but not one cop batted an eye at my exhaust. its so much quieter at idle with the SR in it. sorry for the quality, i put the exhaust in before the digital camera, so its a picture of a picture.

This may not be much help, but Duy had the GT Spec on his old 240 I'm almost positive. You can download his videos and hear the exhaust there.

i have a few good ones, but i dont really know how to get them on here. im computer technology inept. if anyone can explain it to me in lamens terms, i can put some sweet sound clips/videos on here. not to mention a few short vids of me beating a blown rsx type s, vette z06 on a 50 shot(dont know how i did that one) blown b16 eg hatch, wheelie standing first gen rx7 all at the last street legals our shop put on. i just dont know how to get them from my computer to yours. im somewhat computer remedial.http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a133/srpowered240sx/240003.jpg

how's ground clearance?
ehhhhh, its adequete i guess. but i only have intrax springs, so its only lowered about 1.5 inches. the front is still got huge wheel gap, so i cant wait for my teins to get here. i dragged the muffler a few times, but its just the front of the can. the rear probably wont go any lower, but the front will, so im not worried about it. i got used to leaving driveways at angles, so the only time i hit is if i cant avoid it because of some irrate soccer mom not allowing me to take up my rightful space leaving the drivethru, haha. im actually gonna weld a small skid plate to the muffler before i put a hole in it. but it isnt distractingly low.

It's not fuckin' loud. It was quieter than my Skyline Greddy SP exhaust and my custom exhaust now. The canister hangs very low as the grape fruit shooter cannon is huge.

when you get your teins on and you lower it more, make sure you get larger profile tires... your exhaust will get raped if you slam it on the setup you have now. if you think your scraping it now, wait till you lower it dude.. My apex n1 sits maybe an inch off the ground at the lower point (the pipe bend right before the muffler, below the axles), and the canister is about an inch or two... both get fucked up. i scrape EVERYtime i go in and out of my driveway. but whatever, im gangsta coz im low. ;)

yeah, thats why only the front will be put lower than it sits now. im pretty happy with the way the rear wheel gap looks, lightly tucked, im gonna roll the four fenders as soon as i get a set of staggered 5lug wheels(18x8 and 18x9) at the same time as a i do the brake and rear end upgrades. 300zx front and jdm rear. the front will get dropped an inch and a half, rear, maybe 1/4 inch on the teins hopefully this weekend. if the ups guy shows.
