Now i'm under the impression that any liquid system with a closed loop shouldn't have any air in it, certainly it shouldn't have bubbles activley moving around. Mine does though, maybe it wasn't bled properly...

I've looked around, tracing for leaks and found what i believe to be a small leak coming from my front main seal, leaking back and dropping off where the engine and tranny meet, but nothing PS related.

In any case, i don't think my PS loop is air tight. In my SOHC KA the PS reservoir wasn't transparent so i can't exactly compare. Are the bubles normal for the dual cam, and if not, what do you reccomend?

TIA.

i made the same observation on my dohc...the ps fluid bubbles violently, but i was told that it was normal...i would also like to know more about this maybe potential problem...

It's normal. It's noticable on S14s due to the translucent PS reservior.

the bubbling couldn't be related to boiling point though. i wonder why it's normal... I'll rebleed my system and see if the bubbles persist.

They will. It's not a matter of air in the system or excessive heat - it's just the way it works.
