Well since my wheels have been peeling and I really don't like them, alot of you know I have been talking about getting new wheels..well I have come to a decision. They are Volk Rays "United Arrows" Line. The model is "WR's". In Bronze. Not sure if you have them in the states. Won't get them for about a week on order from Volk. To check them out go here:
http://www.rayswheels.co.jp/2004e/products/frame_w.html

Then click "United Arrows"
Then Click "WR"

Tell me what you think

Like an ugly version of Work Emotion CR-Kai...
I'm not digging them, but if you like them and they come in the size/offsets you want, go for it.

if you go cast, go with something like the Daytona Racing 505s in 18x9 +18 or such. :D

They're definately an upgrade from what you have now. LOL. I never liked your current wheels. Post some new pics when you get them mounted! What tires are you going to run? Something we don't have here?

No offense but the sizes and offsets offered on that wheel suck complete goat ass. Total FWD wheel.
18x7.5 +35
17 x 7.0 +32

PASS

If you like the style get the CR Kai's. At least they come in decent sizes and offset for S cars.

kuramaya
06-25-2005, 06:44 PM
well im still getting 'em  do you reccomend I get 32, 42, or 50 offset? Im a motor guy, not a wheel guy..obviously you all can tell that since my choice is not liked by the masses :yum:

mrmephistopheles
06-25-2005, 07:02 PM
32. get the lowest offset possible..

Seriously though (no flaming) those wheels will look like doo. Those sizes really stink.
You should be looking for something that's 8" wide minimum, with around +20 offset maximum.

kuramaya

just called the shop and the guy says they have a 22 Offsett available, i dont see it on t he website though...so I guess I will go with 22 then

Well Great news for me...today I went to Autobacs continuing my search for wheels. They are having a campaign since it is bonus time of the year for Japan...They Japanese Guy working was a drifter and somehow helped me talk my wife into getting Work EMotions :D . With the campaign I am getting the following for 130,000 Yen with tires, lugs, and installation!

Front
17 x 8
Tires 235/45/17

Rear
17 x 9
Tires 255/40/17

Here is a pic from my phone at the shop of the wheels

I hope you're NOT paying extra for installation. Because if you are. . .shame on you. But, other than that, nice wheels. I'm sure the other zilvians will approve.

2,000 Yen is the installation price..I can do it for free on base of course at the hobby shop...but 2,000 Yen first time I mount/spin the wheels Ill let them do it...I can change tires and wheels no problem, done it tons of times,,this is the first new set I have ever got so I will sit back and sip a Pocari Sweat while they mount them for me....EVERY MOD ON MY CAR I have done myself....
Thanks for the props though!!!

Can you explain what an 8j on the front and 9 J on the back will look like if I have a 32 vice a 22? I understand the fact that they wont be out as much, so 2 Centimeters less...If this looks bad I can always adda 10milli spacer right? Wonder why he reccomended the 32...maybe JCI you think? I still havent paid for shit yet..the campaign starts on the 15th...

mrmephistopheles
06-29-2005, 05:07 AM
yeah mroe than likely for JCI, since you can't have your wheels sticking out beyond the fenders. That's why it's a good idea to have a set of shitty battleship wheels for JCI time.

x8 +32 will look... *okay*
for 8", you'd want around 10-20 offset to look good.
x9 +15 looks really swell. That's pretty much what you want to aim for in terms of 'teh ZOMG JDM FLOOOOSHness'
If you're not afraid of rolling your fenders and doing some harness tucking, this is the way to go.
Beyond the look factor, you end up having an ever so slightly wider track.

Honestly, go with what makes you happy. For me, I'd like x9 all around with ~+12-+15 offset
If I should go staggered, I'd want like... x10 +12.

Make sure you have some dish in the back at least. The wheels don't look that great with flat faces.

Well finally got the new wheels today! Running 235's 45 on the rear and 225's 45 on the front. Got the Work Lug nuts as well. They were 13,000 Yen, came with an extra set of lugs (4), and the Key. For those wondering yes they say work on the sides of the lugs and have the "W" on the end....The wheels didn't come with the decals on them and I kinda like the look without work all over them..the stickers came in 4 sheets...I may just save the sheets for another day and put a couple on the wheels...Ride is Good. The Tires are Falken Ziex..they are pretty nice...here are a few pics...the car is dirty so don't mind that...

I love the size as they are...yeah I agree that the front at least can go about 2 CM lower and the back 1 cm lower..too easy though takes all but 10 minutes to do that...i need to focus on the S15 Turbine and new Boost control now..

Car is hot. IMO it's not complete unless you get a pulled fender in the arse. Also, the last pic, looks like two huge fuba antennas stickin out of your hatch.

I dont have to order from the site man, Im in Japan. I just go to any Wheel/Tire spot and they have the books and they call and order for me...they can get disciunts that I cant if I ordered myself....only took 7 days to get the wheels...I first tried Autobacs, then went to Yellowhat and saved 200 bucks by going to yellowhat,,,
