I got my car back from the body shop. Version Select VIII kit with veilside mirrors and a custom hood. I dont know if im happy with the hood but it sure is functional(lowered water temp 5-10 degrees while driving. Let me know what you guys think. Is it me or does the front bumper side stick out a little to much. The guys at the body shop said that is how the kit is but is seems off to me. Have a good one

why'd you lose the spoiler?!! haha
is it because Vertex also makes wide fenders, and the bumper is designed to accomodate those?
The paint looks clean, but i really don't like the hood...shouldn't the vents be integrated rather than raised so obviously? It's like they cut a hole and glued the vent on top, rather than molding it and making it perfectly cut into the hood...
yea, that front and rear bumper is supposed to be used with wide fenders.

i love flamboyantly pink bicycles ^_^
WTF. Ha ha ha. I love the random humor. Well this just means ill have to go widebody one day like a planned. But this will do for now. The hood isnt perfect but will do for now.

the front bumper sticking out like that makes your (probably pretty wide) wheels look small...
And I've always hated rear bumpers that flare out toward the back, but that's a personal opinion. Overall, that kit makes the car look kind of fat. If fat bottomed girls make your world go round, that's great.
all in good fun ;)

i think version select typeIII is a copy of URAS.. but yeah i think it will match up nicely with wider fenders.
looks good man

if u go wide fenders, maybe u ditch the stretched tires ? seems like there would be a large gap w/ the current setup and all that extra fender well space

No genuine side shots? Love the car needs alittle more tyre on the front hate to see those rims get reamed..
And like the rest I hate the bonnet really detracts from the car. I vote for a carbon fiber bonnet with a sunk in vent if you must. :)

Probably better off going with bigger wheels altogether at that point.

I am guessing 10in wide in the back already?

All that hotness, but would look much better with pulled fender & wider/lower offset wheels. :)

Very nice man. Personally I liked your car with the OEM kit :)
also, I don't totally understand the vented hood. When it rains, is it ok for the water to get into the engine bay?

I was considering ditching the wheels/going wide body/ and putting bigger wheels on but I love my SSR's so much. Plus you cant order them anymore. I though I would be done with the body work portion but just more work now. . BTW 9.5 +18 rear.

It may just be me, or the picture, but the rear bumper fitment around the tail lights looks awful...big gap between lights and bumper.

The hood ducts should flush with the hood. Was the border around the ducts intentional?

I think the car looks great (hood is my only exception)!
Yes the front and rear bumpers as well as the side skirts are made to fit flush with the widebody fenders that are designed for that kit. But all in all i think everything looks great together. MIssing the kouki blinkers though.

Tires don't fit at all. Why would you do that?
Did the body shop buy that hood from JC Whitney? Nice glue-on-looking vents you got there. Good luck w/ that thing in the rain.
Personally I don't like the body kit and hate the hood, but its your car. WTF is w/ the body kit not matching up with the car at all? That looks terrible. Why didn't you have them mold it or something? Yikes.
Did you pay to have this done? :)

mold the kit?? !HAHAHAH
go back to HIN fag.
he tracks his car. its perfect
the fendesr and bumper he knows why it doesnt fit already. no worries.
the vents are that bad. my friend had them
its like people who thing reverse vented hood sucks i nrain
when you're driving air is coming OUT water wont be going in.
its when parked you run into smoe problems but if have the vents located properly and nothing in you engine bay (electrical boxes wise) then its perfect (like mine).
anyways, back to what i was saying
molding the kit!?
HIN fag!
hahaha

Before talking loads of shit, you should post pics of your car.
Jcb890
06-29-2005, 01:21 PM
yeah, either molding the kit or doing the full widebody kit so the kit doesn't fit like absolute shit like it does. what does doing the widebody/modling have to do w/ tracking the car? if you're saying it'd add weight, then he wouldnt have done a big body kit like this in the first place if he was that worried about the weight.
so, go back to autozone and buy some phat body kits for your ride that don't fit right.
as for the hood... guess what, you're not always moving. i dunno about you, but there's stop signs and stop lights in my state so i have to stop sometimes. which would cause rain to go in the vents.
Dousan_PG
06-29-2005, 01:26 PM
modling a kit. good idea
let's seee..hit some bumps on the track, off track some..rip the kit off the car..yeah molding is a GREAT idea
as far as rain
obviously you have to stop. but its not like you'll destroy every electical device at onc estop. driving w/ a vented hood is not as bad as people ASSUME. you dont know first hand, you dont have friends who have it, you only think you know. but you dont. so stfu
aero fits fine. where is it bad?
and let's see pics of your stock car. obviously you must have the right idea. fucking newbie who knows it all. HA. go buy the wrong LSD again, jackass.
revat619
06-29-2005, 01:50 PM
His aero fits fine. molding a kit is just gay, well unless your into just hard parking your car and not actually driving it, which is gay in its self. so in conlcusion, jcb5164634156 please do us all a favor and STFU.
The jackassery of newbs continues to run rampant....

10,075 vs 121
i mean seriously
Molding sucks in general but I would have molded the hood vents.
Jcb890
06-29-2005, 02:40 PM
clearly he should have gone with the rest of the widebody kit at the same time. i was unaware that he tracked the car, but in this case he should def get the wider fenders and w/e else it takes to make the kit fit right because it looks goofy as shit sticking out all over the place. it just looks absolutely terrible sticking out everywhere and shit. but his taste is his own, so let him do what he wants w/ the car.
a vented hood where rain can get in while stopped is clearly not the smartest thing to do. destroy it all at one stop? you only have to stop once every time you drive??? last i checked, stopping more than once is pretty normal.
and i didn't buy the wrong LSD, i dont have the output shafts for it asshat. so suck my shit. douchebag 240sx people from California... who would have ever guessed... personally i'd rather keep my car stock looking with maybe a lip and rims and put the rest of the money into power mods. my sr20 will be here soon and hopefully it'll be done by end of july.
ps - you were all noobs once so suck my dick. :goyou:
Dousan_PG
06-29-2005, 02:46 PM
yah get an sr20 before you can really drive your car. oh wait you can, you just hardpark and daily drive. nevermind.
he didnt know when bought it most dont actually with an URAS/ORIGIN aero. he can upgrade later but wide fendrers also mean new wheels whichis more money
like i said you no nothing about vented hoods and rain in daily driving. so stfu. you'll probably cry when you see my vented hood (URAS)
imo you bought the wrong LSD because you didnt get everything you need for it. you couldnt make it work so its the wrong lsd
you should have bought a nismo which would drop right in w/ no problems on open diff axles.
yeah keep your stock car
and your penis envy to people who have nicer car then you.
end of july i would assum you already ordered it. probably will dro pin stock. blow out some stock gaskets and just 1/2 ass all around.
douchebag.
hey you are probably #2030932 to call me that. so fucking original!!! pat yourself on the back.
edit: yeah were all newbs at one point. but MOST newb keep their goddamn mouth shut and learn before trying to correct people who more about things then they do. ie: you vs me.
again as mentioned a few times above
STFU

you're the man dude. i'd like to shake your hand. if we could arrange that, that'd be awesome.
yeah, im just gonna drop my sr20 in and keep it totally stock and blow some head gaskets, wow you know my exact plan. psychic maybe?
why would i have penis envy of a car that looks like shit? nicer than mine? maybe in your eyes because you'd rather have a car with a body kit than a fast car. but its cool, i'll let you keep thinking you're the man. ;)

haha its like both sides of the opinionated spectrum
opinionated idiot vs. opinionated douche (lol ! )
anyway I like it
you guys talking about wide fenders its still not flush with the bumper with wide fenders, thats the way these bumpers look
stock fenders are way way hotter in my book personally
Hood is meh, my only problem with the car is ride height and the front wheels are a little weak, but looks good! very clean, take some pictures from further away instead of just in a garage too

actually i have an s14sr w/ about 240+ HP (whatevr a s14 sr runs at with 1 bar of boost, safc and injctors and intercooler and othre stuffs bolt on shit)
and i have an aero kit (ORIGIN)
and a fulll suspension setup.
sooooo....what you said makes no sense whatsoever.
i didnt say headgasket. if you blow your headgasket on mild tune then you motor/tuning sucks.
this guy has some good shit too motor and suspension. and he's a good driver, ive seen him drive.
like i said, penis envy.
edit: werd brian had that same style hood b4

i dont think my last post worked.
My car is not finished yet, had some set backs with personal stuff, and my body guy. I have got the engine bay painted, motor back in, wheels and suspension on the car, and everythign is aligned and fitted pretty nice. Just have to make the passneger wheel well, and mold rear fender ( yes mold!, it's my car and you all can suck my nuts)! I will post pics later today or tommorow if i get a chance.

I like the car, like the kit, bnstyle is my favorite at this time, like the wheels, not sure about the hood but isn't bad.
Personally I don't mind if the car look perfect or so, I like rude car used in the right mode, I like skretch from drifting day and all the stuff, so I like it with or without perfect fitment.. :boink:
In future is possible add wide fender, change wheels or what you want and at the moment is still nice!
Mold a kit is the shit
