I found out my 240 has a rust hole the other day. Problem is i don't know how to get underneath the top metal to get to the rust on the bottom. Only thing i think i'll be able to do is find a good shop to cut and weld a new piece on. But I'm just looking for a temporary fix for now. Can someone please help me with this?

its along the side of the sunroof?
hard to tell from the pics
maybe you can get to it if you completely remove your sunroof assembly?

I can't really see the picture to well, or to be able to know where it's located. It's on the roof right?

you can't bondo it...
the water has seeped inside
there is rust in there
you have to clean it all out before you fill up the hole, or its just going to keep on rusting

shine a light and see how bad it is from the inside
i dont know what the roof is like on a s13
can you get into the hollow space from the side (where the sunroof assembly is installed)?
your only option might be to cut it out, treat the rust on the inside, then weld a new piece in place

well... when u sanded the car did u spray some sealer before u sprayed the rattle can primer.... if not pretty much its open season on the spots u sanded.... primer is kind absorbent... best way to fix that is patch the metal , temp fix is probably use dynaglass since its waterproof... i used it on my HB when i shaved the attena hole...

But wouldn't still eat away at the inside?

i came across this quite randomly
you may want to give it a shot, as you can spray it into the hole
unlike most crappy 'paint over' rust inhibtors, some magazines actually had *good* things to say about it:

if you try it out, let us know if it ends up bubbling after a few months. good luck. :)
oh and yes, if you just patch up the hole without treating any surface rust you may have inside that hole, it will keep rusting.

I think im gonna try that, hopefully it works because when I used a product similar to that, but a different brand it really didn't work. I don't think it was strong enough to remove all of that rust. After I apply that product, would I put bondo over it or should I use dynaglass (is fiberglass the same?)
