Sylvania Silverstars are nice, they're more white than any other color and relatively cheap.

Piaa's are good if you dont mind spending alil more , they're very very white.

Use the "H1" size bulb. Its the same size as a regular beam on a 97-98 240sx.

I would also recommend going w/ the SilverStars from Sylvania. If you go to a local car place.. (Autozone/Pep Boys) you should be able to find them for about $30-$40 for both.

You need to do some reading. For starters, a 55W bulb puts out 55W of light. No more than that. All these high watt "85W with the consumption of a 35W' are crap. Anything colored is also crap, because it hinders the light output.

If you really want brighter bulbs you're going to need to upgrade the wiring to handle it and go with 110/130W bulbs. Nothing else is going to be brighter, you'll just think it is because it's a different color or beam pattern. People who buy into the whole bulb market are hilarious.

I'd go with Hellas. Find a reputable store online, there's a few. I picked up a pair of Euro spec TUV approved H1s from a place I found on google. The site also had a good writeup on differences in TUV and DOT standards and a diagram of different lighting patterns from different bulbs from a lot of various manafacturers. Very good reading.
I believe they also sold the relay/wiring upgrade kits as well.

Check out http://www.rallylights.com/

I have the plus 50 bulbs. The light output is noticeably better.

thx for advice. same ones i ordered. i wanted the 4k color but i figure the 200 extra lumens are more important to me.

ridiculous price too man :)

The stock Halogen projectors suck. They retain heat and you'll go thru bulbs like crazy. The only bulbs that lasted more than 6months were the PIAA Xtreme Whites and I pulled them for the HID. PIAA had the best output of all the bulbs I used and had a 1yr warranty. The PIAA's are the only ones I can recommend. I could never find H1 silverstars. Maybe times have changed. PIAA's will run you $60 but, in the long run I would buy a replacement bulb set at the auto parts store and save up for HID.

They still paled compared to HID:
