GR2s don't fit on S14s. Tokicos are more progressive than the KYBs. Go with Tokicos.

My friend Drew has KYB GR2s on his S14, and he likes them very much.
and I have stock struts on my S13, and they're better than the stock struts in my GTi. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>
Yes well.
What make the Tokicos better than the KYBs? I know jack about struts so pls use layman's terms!
Actually since I'm asking, why should any strut be better than another?

The shocks damping and rebound characteristics are very "OEMish" when you take about the GR2's. They are basically glorified Monroe Sensamatics.. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'> <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'>
The tokicos damping/rebound characteristics are much more sporting, but in my opinion they still suck since you cant adjust them. This is important when your matching them up with linear rate springs. You need to adjust them according to how stiffly sprung or non stiff the springs are. Progressive springs are somewhat more forgiving since the rates are varied. But mash it hard in a car with progressive springs and non adjustable shocks and the ability of the non adjustable shock to handle the spring loads is evident.

Greg, I heard you want really really really good suspension, so here's my wish list, if it will help you:
1. Tokico HTS
2. GAB Super HPs
3. Koni Yellows
All of them have adjustable dampening.
The Tokicos are special because they're short-stroke. GABs have a really good reputation for top-notch suspension parts -- very adjustable. Konis, I hear, are really good too. They're are also adjustable, but not as adjustable as the first two. Also, the fronts are inserts, meaning you have to gut your stock front struts and insert the Koni crap inside.

unfortunately the Tokico HTS's are not short stroke . they are for the AE86 but not our cars . This was proven by Alex Chang moderator of socal240sx.org who put HTS's on his S13.
As far as GABS are concerned if you have an S13 save yourself some money and get the KYB AGX's they are GAB's . This was proven by Ground Control they took apart a GAB and a AGX same valving the only difference was in the quality of the surface metal on the piston shaft. I.E. AGX's are cheaper in price so they use a little less quality surface metal on the piston shaft. This is only a possible problem in high calcium area's i.e. road salt.
I have never heard of anyone having this problem though.
