im ordering new brakes for my car and i need to know if it has abs...how can u tell?

That big ABS actuator under the hood would be my first guess. Second would be the ABS warning indicator that comes on every time you start the car. And third would be common sense, but we all know 240SX owners don't have that.

That statement doesn't really have anything to do with what r240na said, except maybe item 3. When you start your car, does an ABS light on your dash light up for a few seconds? If so, you have abs. Or look under your hood for the distribution block:

if you have that, you have abs.

Was ABS even an option in 1990? See, in parts stores, the clerks are generally ill-informed jackasses who don't know shit... The thing here is that non-ABS models had the same brakes from 89-94, but ABS wasn't an option til 1989, Russ, correct me if I'm wrong.

the distribution block works, you can also look at the master cylinder and see if there are 2 or 3 brake lines (hard lines) coming out of it. 2 = ABS, 3 = No ABS.
