Whats high mileage for a ka24de? 150K?

Is 120K alright?

What kind of mileage do you guys have and how is it turning? Any problems?

my KA-E is pretty much 160k, and 1.2k on the rebuilt motor.

Anythin under 300k, and you should be happy.

It all depends on what kind of life it has had. For instance my friend just got a 50k kilometer sr and once he got it home we popped the valve cover and yay, it had oil looking feeling like clay all over the cams and whatnot. I dont think it ever got an oilchange. Compression test turned up 175 across the board before he bought it too. So check under the valve cover and do a leak down test if you can. Did you buy it already?

161k on a 92, blows some smoke but its had a hard life, hasent exactly been babied. 200k isnt unlikely with good maintenance.

155K on a 95 KA24DE. Had it since 96 when I bought it used with 22k miles on it. Timing chain rattles at idle a bit but it still runs strong considering that I flog it practically every time I drive it. Don't drive it as much as I used to now that I have a '04 KA24DE Frontier truck. Switching between the truck & 240 every week or so makes me look forward to driving the 240....it's much more fun to drive. Nissan must have thought very highly of it's KA motor considering it's lasted about 15 years in production cars & trucks.

96 200k 240sx. Engine runs like a champ. Had some sqeeking problem a week ago but turn out it was just water/dirt. I drive from san diego to san francisco many times. Beat on it on the track at least once a month. (When I mean beat on it, I mean REALLY beat on it. Like I let the rpm needle bounce off redline all the time). If something is gonna go wrong with my car, it's my transmission first, not my engine. All I can say is Nissan knows how to make engine.

Maintenence is key. A car could have 10k miles, but run like shit. The opposite could also be the same. Depends on its life, whether it was a rockstar, or a bookworm.

the thread title is misleading.

do a compression test and fix any obvious problems.

keep a spare ka handy when you turbo.

I got over 200,000 miles (230,000 or so) on my 1991 240sx KA engine.
No problems with the engine! NO OIL BUILD-UP. But needs a new radiator soon.

over 200k on my motor. Had it since 99' with 82 on it at the time. Minor oil leak but soon to be resealed. some sensors are malfuntioned but my motor runs like a champ. Properly maintained, regular oil change, dada. Got the rattle on the chain but im in the works fora rebuild. Got the spare head done. Just collecting misc parts.
