Doesn't matter, it's not structural enough to affect anything adversely.

That looks ugly to me and I would be pissed at the guy and make him pay for it. though you have to realize I am one of the pickiest guys out there when it comes to chassis's . I would not buy your car if I saw that.
The big issue, that I see in your pic, is not the fact that he dented it, that stuff happens all the time( though I hate it.), its the fact that the rail seam has seperated slightly from the your unibodys floorboard.
That indicates extreme pressure i.e. weight was placed in that area. It does stress the chassis when that is done. Your chassis is still straight but more prone to possible damage in that region in the event of a accident that would involve impact stress to that rail or section of your unibody.
Again I repeat I am anal about that kind of stuff , though I am also known for having some of the cleanest chassis's around. hehehehhehhe . Yes I do sell some of them, others I keep. Though I can tell you if it passes my inspection its a damn straight chassis.

its all sheet metal with some undercoating... being in the autobody biz, id say ur car is gonna collapse and fall apart.. and become next to nothingless......... sike its fine deal with it...

use some jbweld or something and fill in any gap he may have created between the rail and floorboard. when it dries, cover it with rubber spray or something. if there is a gap, it will form rust if you just leave it. (ask me how i know)

You should of seen my old Sentra. We jacked that sucker up in the middle. I was wondering why it took twice as long to jack up. In the middle of the car, there was no frame rail, it was pinned to the floor board. God I miss that dump ride.

I am going to call a frame repair shop tomorrow to see if they can work it out for a decent price, if not ill just hit it up myself and use the jbweld to seal it. It sucks being so anal about my car even if it does not effect anything that much

This is the reason WHY you don't let anyone who is NOT familiar with the jack points of your car lift your car. Unibody cars in general, (like the Nissan 240SX) rely heavily on the frame rails to absorb the impact energies sustained during an automobile collision. Although your frame rail damage may be considered minor, it's best that you take it in to a REPUTABLE auto body shop and have them give you an assesment of how bad the damage is. Your damage may require some reinforcement and/or welding to get the rail back to acceptable energy absorbtion levels.
Why take the chance....
Anyhow...that's my opinion...

itll survive.. fixin something that is kinda pointless, chassis are meant to collapse during collision... like ur front end for instance... before anything really affects the the frame all ur front end parts are suppose to collapse.. plus who here has really seen a car hit from the bottom.?. in any collision if it was a real hard core, like one involving a impact to reach all the way to the center of the chassis, chances are ur dead... so blah fixing something like that i would probably use a slide hammer.... on a lift..even tho its pulled out its still flex'd already . if u really wanna get technical and replace it .. ur gonna spend lots of dough.... so blah dont fix it and deal with it

Fill it with structural foam
What about welding back the part that is separeated.
Even weld the entire length od the rail.

Yea, good advice. Those are 2 things you could do to help out with what your friend did.

moral of story-dont let other people work on your car.. lol.. since its not thiers, they dont give a fu k. I always tell my friends not to lift it there but they insist.. it makes the chassis look ugly, and if i was on the market for a new car, I wouldnt be too impressed if I saw alot of that. But it happens.
Dont waste your time fixing it tho, its fine.
