i've heard the non hinged strut bar works much better than hinged bars. but i ran into a problem, i can't find non-hinged strut bars for the 240, anyone know where to get them, and how much they will run me?

well welded and double hingled is better then singel hinged...all strut bars the r single hinged r crap...for bovious reasons...double hinged is suppose 2 be better then welded so recap:
single hinged < welded < double hinged

STB's are all about flexing... or better stated, keeping your strut towers from flexing towards or away from each other. it's all about stiffness. theoretically, a single hinged point can be stronger than a non-hinged straight point if bolted right. It all depends on the design of the STB.
but you kno what... STB isn't rocket science. I'll bet only half the people will guess right whether a STB on their car is hinged or non-hinged.

I dunno, I like my cheap ole OBX bar. noticed a huge difference. I should try out my friend's Cusco, see if there's any difference. I doubt it though.
also, if 95% of hinged bars are crap... what 5% of the bars out there for our car is good? cuz... let's see... Apexi, Trust, OBX/Pilot, Cusco, HKS, and others that I could think of are all hinged. Who makes good bars for 240's cuz nobody I know of makes non-hinged.

is the double hinged adjustable? because wouldn't that be the same is welded?

Well, I think the difference is not that noticable. first off, a 240sx is different from an ITR, so its no use comparing how a sturt bar would work on an integra, because it may not function the same on the 240sx. and also having too much stiffness in one place may not be good (for the rest of the chassis). I believe I have seen a cusco welded one (kind of like the neuspeeds).
IMO if the nismo bar was designed the way it was (by nissan motorsports for nissan), and it happens to be single hinged, then there is a reason.
The best honda strut bar i have seen was the factory one on the 5th gen accord v6, where it attaches at 3 points. strut towers and firewall.
