okay, i need to drag myself to the back and shot myself for this one..but i'm posting this in hopes that one of you guys have done it as well or has known someone close who has done it.

yesterday, in the morning...i thought i clean my engine bay...so i headed over to the local auto zone and bought me some gunk foam degreaser and a scrub brush..anyways, sprayed it all over the engine and engine bay after taking out the cold and hot pipe on my redtop SR. I covered the openings with plastic bags and rubber band to keep water from getting in...along with the alternator. so i cleaned it and sprayed the engine bay down with water while the engine was off. I put everything back on...let it sit for a day to let everything dry off incase i might have got some water into electronic parts. so then this morning when i went to go turn it on....NOTHING.

It's not turning over. I tapped the starter while my brother tried to crank it....nothing...no crank,no turns, nothing but a little clicking noise coming from the fuse/relay box on the driver side. checked all fuses...all are good. thought maybe it was the starter so i ran over to my friends house and got his...still nothing. does anyone have a clue? all my dash lights work...everything does..it just don't crank. please tell me i'm not the only person dumb enough to do this...and tell me how to bring my beautiful car back to life. thanks in advance.

my setup: s13 fastback, redtop, greddy manifold...i have other parts but i don't think it would effect it from starting...help please, first person to help me fix it, i'll give them a ride in my car...whenever i'm in ur town.

Go to the engine bay fuse box and make sure this grey fuse is not blown.

yes, battery was disconnected and taken out of the car when the car was sprayed....battery cables are fine...no white powder or anything....S-AFC reads a good 11.9-12v. That's normal for me, it's always like that and it starts fine. I will check the gray fuse..thanks.

gray fuse is fine...i've blown that one before...usually when the gray fuse is out...the clock on the dash don't work...or the seatbelts go...but gray fuse is fine.

Okay, on the the batery terminal you have that green thing with 2 plugs going to it. Check the plugs, as well ass wiggle the plugs, then if that doesnt work tell you bro to try to start the car as you wiggle them.

i did the same thing in my dsm eclipse. that night, the alternator died. hmmm i dont know if its the same thing, but im just telling you that my alternator crapped out after giving my engine bay an attempt to clean. it was a 9 year old car, so it could be anything.

I dont know where the CAS on the Nissan engines is located but on DSMs if you get them wet while washing the car, they wont start.

Sounds like something similar happened to you. I would start checking out parts on the engine to see if they have taken water on.

Thesnail nailed it right on the head...it was the gray fuse.

okay...got it fixed..well, i covered the alternator and anything that i thought would die if water got into it...after switches out all the relays and even the ignitor i was stuck...i then checked the 75amp alternator fuse (the gray one)...again, and noticed that it was a little dark at the edge....i've blown this one before and usually when this one goes out..my clock on the dash is out...so then, i didn't think it was it...since my clock and everything in the car still worked...along with the fuel pump. I thought i give it a shot anyways after praying that if it just fix itself, i'll never do it again...hahaha. so then, i ask my buddy to bring over his 75 amp fuse, popped it in and bam....she was screaming out my name like she ain't see me in years....so yeah, thanks to everyone that replied...it worried me quite a bit...since i was suppose to be going back to work this evening...thanks a lot everyone.

i just got it primed today too..so i'll post pics when i get a chance. MUAHAHAHAHAHA. THANKS TO EVERYONE AGAIN FOR THE QUICK RESPONSES...
