Just happened recently. Now ever I start the engine it would make this squeeking noise like Giiiiii.... And also whenever I redline the car. Usually comes on at 6k and won't go away until I shift. I am thinking it's some kind of belt/chain noise? Any input guys?

peak power on a KA is 5800rpms if i remember...so why would even be revving the engine that high?

I am just insane. Especially when I am in that sliding mode. I like to let the RPM needle bounce off the Rev limiter :bowrofl: Ok...Serisouly, in some of the long sweeper, I really had to get the speed up so I redline all shifts up to 3rd gear and just floor the MOFO the entire turn.

Check your grommets for tears. Look at the one from the turbo to the hotpipe especially. A friend of mine use cheap grommets and had a leak there from the heat. When under load it screamed, an evil sounding scream actually.

sorry no turbo yet. I still need to rebuild a KA for that matter. What kind belt can this be? If it snaps hope it would still run since the car runs on chain.

check the belts..(as in water pump PS ect) throw some wd40 on them..if it goes away then thats it.

It will run, If one brakes, you will 1-overheat and loose P/s or 2-loose your alternator 3- A/c . Check if any of them are loose.

It's your motor telling you to stop beating the fuck out of it and understand that its red RPM portion means bad.

might mean something's going
