Is the tranny ground on the SR a clip or is it just a cord that comes off the tranny and onto the chasis?

Where have you seen a ground on a 240 that consists of a clip? Im guessing you are talking of that flat wire near the speed sensor that always is ripped in half on most 240's?

There is a clip for ground that goes to the firewall, but iirc it's on the back of the head.

the tranny ground is a clip on my GA16de so i was curious if it was the same on the SR since im trouble shooting getting it to start. Ive got gas, spark, and of course air... won't crank so i think somthing is not grounded.

are the engine grounds hooked up ?
back of head and side of motor?
are you getting it to cough or anything or just crank no fire?

If it does not turn over, check the starter ground. If it turns over, check the CAS. did you ever take out the CAS?

never touched crank angle sensor. i got a front clip so it was never bumped either... cant really be timing i wouldnt think because it still has the oem metalic sticker on the CAS. i hooked the ground from the back of the valve cover to the chasis and the intake manifold. it does cough some. it will turn over but wont start up. every now and then it coughs and i get some exhaust.
