well, so this guy rear ends me, we exchange information and agreed on settaling this under the table, w/o the insurance knowing, so i get my quote 470 bucks + 2 days of work, and i call him...

he pretends he's not him, he pretends dosn't know wha's going on, he dosn't know me, and he pretends he don't speak english... and starts to jargon in korean

now i'm really ticked off, i just need go get his insurance polcy and stuff so i can report a claim. Anybody have an idea?

well, we exhanged these info:
his name
address
phone number
driver licn #

but it turned out the phone number he gave me was a church's number, and the van (that hit me) belongs to a church.

well, thanx to the moder technology, i discovered his home phone number, and the location of the church. I plan to go and take pics of the van (w/ it's bumper dented in still... i hope) as evidence

but still, anyone can give me tips on what to do?

btw, i called my insurance company, they said since my coverage is liable, there's little they can do...

looks like your screwed, even if you take him to court he can deny it and since there was no police report the judge would rule in favor of him. were there any witnesses or anyone with you? that might be your only chance. next time dont be nice to the guy call the police.

Ok, here is what you do. Fallow him one day and when he parks somewhere park in front of him. When he leaves call the cops. Give them the plates for the van say you saw him hit your car and take off.

Some kind of store with a parking lot(try to avoid cameras). Park infront of him and kind of hang out somewhere. He will leave and you will call the cops. Now just say you saw him bump you(like he missed reverse or something). Since he was going 5mph in the first place and all the shit is going to match up it should work. You just have to play it cool.

Jeremy if he rear ended you, you should have gotten his insurance information period.
He is at fault under California law so I do not see why you were trying to keep it out of the insurance companies hands. On top of that under Ca law if it is under $500 it does not even count as a point on his record so it would have been no big deal to report it to his insurance company and get your car fixed .

Actually, if you've got his DL#, call the cops. Tell them you didn't know the damage was over $500, so you hadn't reported it yet, and when you tried to call the guy he played dumb (maybe he isn't playing and actually is dumb, but either way he acts like he doesn't know you). Tell them he gave you an incorrect phone number but that you have his DL#. You can likely match up the damage on your bumper to the damage on his as far as height/location. My gf works for an insurance company, so I'll ask her what you can do when she gets out of the shower.

Let's fuck this guy. Doing that to someone is bullshit.

My girlfriend says that you should take pictures of the damage on your car and also the damage on his. &nbsp;Then call him again and let him know that you have pictures and plan to file a police report if he doesn't own up to this. &nbsp;If he takes care of it, no problem, if he doesn't call the cops and give them the photos. &nbsp;Tell them your story and see what they do for you. &nbsp;Either way you'll have damage evidence on both vehicles and since your rear-end is damaged and it's his front end it's going to be his fault. &nbsp;

Hrm i dunnow about the no insurance thing. Cuz where i live it's pretty common to do stuff w/o insurance, except that usually it's done right at the accident spot (like you write out a check to the person you hit) and then you just go your own ways. but once they get ahold of you, they won't let go, they'll call you lie 6-7 in the morning and ask you to go, and they'll provide ride. &nbsp;the reason they provide ride is 'cause, you can't leave till the guy that brought u there leaves. &nbsp;wow, and i heard they keep people there n stuff, kinda scary...

the moral of the story? be causious before you jump into a religion... &nbsp;some of the "newer" ones are kinda whacked...

Well, can u see the damage from them? If yes, then first of all contact the van owner, and tell him that u have evidence... throw in a witness for the effect.
