Anybody know the approximate weight of a red-top head intact with all it's internals. Need to know to estimate shipping charges, although it's still in the car, else I would weigh myself. Already searched a bit, but I can't really search too much cause I'm at work. Thanks.

seriously?! I thought it would be closer to 80 lbs or so. Is this an intact head with all internals???

well i just pulled a head about a week ago, i took cams out of it, left everything else in, cams are like 3.5lbs together id say.

u could be right maybe it felt like 60lbs cuz it was 60 lbs. but carrying it around to my workbench and stuff it felt significantly lighter than bending over in engine bay.

well for sure, i can tell u its heavier than both a b18 head, and a small block chevy iron head.

What do you think weighs a lot? Valves weigh like 2oz each, springs 2oz each, keepers like 3grams, cams probably weigh around 3-4 pounds with gears...

Well, I'd just like to have a more certain estimate before I go quoting less and then having to fork the extra cash when I actually ship it and find out it's significantly more. Thanks for the replies.

A bare head (no cams, springs, retainers, or valves) weighs ~24lbs...I shippoed ona couple weeks ago.

Cams are heavy...probably ~15lbs for the pair.

The rest is all pretty light.

I'd say ~45lbs for a complete head.
