is it just me, or does every honda hatch that is going for the "spoon look" all look exactly the same. That must be why there is so much rice in the Honda community, they have to go above and beyond the whole JDM thing.
I'm glad we've got a lot more options for JDM tightness.

If you're talking about this car:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v498/chanzheng/zheng/jdm%20theory%20-%205-22-05/8c0b6f34.jpg

That's an old Accord (or Integra?) that got JDM spec'd.

I had a 1st gen Integra --- it had pop-up lights. Only in 1990+ did they go to the fixed headlight.

As for comparison --- the old Accords were very similar to the Integra's at the time. I honestly believe it was the same damn car w/ different badges.

I miss my old 'Teg, had all the luxury items I don't have --- power windows/locks/4 doors/an actual trunk

Then again, the 240 is just so much fun to drive.

Anyways, nice pics... no drama w/ undercover cops like last year?

:o

my dad had an accord from the early 80s. i think my mom said it was a 1980 but i can't be sure. 5spd hatchback. i miss that car. i think it had pop ups but i really can't remember too well.

yawn.... look at all the hondas :P
wonder how many of those hondas see the track?

ZK
05-24-2005, 04:50 PM
Well, these are "show cars" so I doubt they see any time on the track.

These guys spend incredible amounts of money to make their cars "JDM" down to the Japanese lettered windshield visors and stuff like JDM OEM stereo decks (which won't work on US radio stations)... I give them respect for having this kind of craze and investing so much into it. They really go out of their way to try to out do each other.

A lot of these cars do get driven on the street which is a lot better than the pure show cars that get trailered and have zero miles on the odo and many of them had dyno sheets to show that the cars do have some serious power.

I seem to remember someone saying somewhere (yea, real specific) that some JDM freaks get the nuts and bolts from Japan that actually say different things....
maybe they were making a joke, i hope....

at that point, pay the cash to get a real JDM car legalized...

oh, don't get me wrong, it was an honest question, I wasn't trying to hate.... not yet anyways :P heehee. I'm just glad they're street cars at least. It's not my bag, but I can respect the effort put in.

and you wondering why a ae85 sells for so much. i wonder how much they put in those cars. blue book they are worth $0 if u put in lots of miles or bad condition

ZK
05-25-2005, 09:49 AM
In Japan the AE86 goes for upwards of 10K US each for good condition ones. It is just a wildly popular car.

Maybe....just maybe...the AE86 scene will deter people away from the 240SX.

Anyways, nice cars...I really like that yellow S2000.

damn, phil, your car probably coulda taken some trophy's, its clean enough outside to beat some of those cars

If it's a clean hachi, they're worth a decent amount. Take a look at slownrusty on club4ag. That guy had his car professionally appraised at $17k with the amount of work and set up his car had.

Haha... nah, not with Drift Unit representing, they have some really nice cars and Bobbyboy was there with his blue S13.5

I'll be out for the June 26 JDM / Euro Show and Autocross at Monster Park but I'm going to be driving, not showing. :p

It will be interesting to see the show cars autocross!

Damn, I would have went if I knew about and it. I know some of the guys. I've seen almost all those cars at JDMtheory or HIN this year. Nothing new to me. What's funny is I have a civic as well with a Cusco cage, stock exhaust, and I do drive it on the street when my 240 is not running. Mostly built for the track. Can't wait to run it at Laguna again...btw, aren't all our cars some form of rice since it's designed in Japan..lol
Here are some pics of mine...
