Had my SR running for almost 2 years now.. Runs great, very fast, but just a couple hopefully minor issues.
On a cold startup - Trying to move without warming up for 5 mins will result in the engine choking, idles ok, but press the gas lightly and it starts to choke and die. However giving it alot of gas will manage to get it going. Once the Nissan dealer said it needed a bigger mafs cause it couldn't provide enough air. And also cause from a stop it takes a sec for the car to kick in from pressing the gas.. But once it's going, it's great.
Smells - While I'm driving I quite often get a gas smell in the interior. Not a big deal. I know I"m running rich because the car backfires a little and pops alot. But Lately there is a TERRIBLE smell.. Smells sorta like a just ran into a cloud of trasnport smoke mixed with alot of dirt. It's just a very bad 'dirty' smell, NOT gassy. Could that be a result of running to rich?
Engine Code: For the longest time it's been throwing a TPS error code. (55 I think?) I read a thread on checking TPS voltages, but I have no idea what this looks like or how to do this, but I did just run out and buy a multimeter with the hopes I could do this.
Any assistance is GREATLY appreciated! Thx!
