I'm beginning to notice something on my rear left brake. Every time I start up the car in the morning and stop. I get this grinding noise from the brake, Also under hard braking too. It's only on my rear left side. My front breaks do squeak from time to time. Anyone has any idea on this?
What does bleeding you're brakes do?
Were I can get Tein TC rods? Will these fit the USM
s14. If not does PDM make tension rods for the s14?
I want my car to be ready for auto x. Any help is appreciated.

Could be the rear brake pad is ready to be changed.
Bleeding the brake system, cleans out ugly old brake fuild, and lets you put in new pretty brake fuild.
You can use JDM T/C rods on USDM ... there's no difference in the suspension.
PDM does not make T/C rod's, they sell stock T/C rod's with whiteline bushing pressed-in already.

Only reason I ask on the TC rods is because of the different streering location on the JDM s14.
thanks allot kid. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>

The steering rack doesn't affect the T/C Rods.
Yeha but no prob.

you also may need to bleed the brakes if you get air in the brake lines. (spongy brake pedal)
You should get you some Metal masters and replace all around for auto-cross. I got them and love them. I immediately noticed less brake fade under hard braking. (not that it went away.. just less of it) You may also want to get yourself some SS brake lines for improved breaking feel.
Also good brake pads squel occasionally. it's just the nature of what they do. There is some stuff you can put on the back of the brake pads that will reduce this. Can't remember what it's called. You can buy it at any parts store. I just remember its blue, and feels like grease.

Agree that grinding generally signifies you need new pads back there. Since it is worse when you first start(?) it *may* be that you have a seized caliper. You'll be able to tell when you are doing the brakes b/c it won't screw back in. (I got one! <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> )
Something to keep in mind: I think right now, your car is classed in STS. This class allows upgraded pads, but I'd double check the rules on lines. They may move you out of hte class and into EP(?).
