motor keeps reving after starting

I recently just put in a new s13 sr20det redtop in my 240 and i got it to start but it just keeps reving after i start it up, from 2000-2500. I have a SAFC, do i have this set wrong, or is it something else. Thanks

Can you expound more on the problem? Is it revving like someone is stepping on the gas pedal? Does it rev to 2500 then come back down?

Check you havent got the throttle cable to tight
Check the throttle body closes to its stopper
Check the cam on the cold start actuator is lining up correctly (dont know if the 13's have them, 14's do - bottom of TB)
Check you have no air leaks from the MAS to the throttle body
Listen for leaks around the manifold

If that fails i would disconect the S-afc and plug your mas wire's back in to each other (simple if you installed the AFC as per instruction manual) and try then, if after that it runs right then you know its the AFC. if not go look at the idle circuit and see if maybe the stepper motor has got stuck open, simple way to check on S14's is to just clamp the hose shut that leads to the charge pipe before the TB, S13's are probably similar.
