i'm actually trying to make an intake with an interooler but with no turbo....i know it's possible but the problem i'm running into is who can make the piping for this project of mine?

troll? moron? Either wat you could do it very easily if that's what you're set on. Just get some polished aluminum bends, and straights (usually you can find a set of enough piping on ebay for about $100). And get some couplers, which you could also find on the cheap from ebay. Keep in mind however that this will offer no performance gain what-so-ever. You would be "cooling" your intake charge with air the same temp as what in the intake. It would do nothing but make you look like an idiot. Who know, maybe that's what you're goin for.

i usually don't bash but come on. you want everyone to think your car's turbo'd don't ya? big front mount and all. you just need the fake bov noise maker now and you'll be set. no one will ever want to race you.

it wont do shit for you since ur not really PUSHING air in. its JUST flowing (vacum) like ur ram or cold air. its stupid

I know this thread is probably a joke, but...

Let's look at how effective this would be:

You take ambient temp air (let's use 85F for this example), and suck it into the motor.

Now, you add an intercooler to your intake system, which is air-to-air...so the COOLEST it could possibly make the air is...drumroll please...ambient temp. 85F. It would have NO effect...

...

The reason it works on a turbo'd car is b/c compressing air heats it up...8psi from a standard T3/T4 is somewhere near ~160F...push that through an intercooler that's only ~85F, and it'll pull half that heat form the air, get it to the ~110F range.

troll.goober. im ashamed you live near the same area as me. but then again. riverside consists almost entirely of idiots and posers. I don't understand why I didn't figure they would congregate here on zilvia. lock this thread seriously. such stoopid questions don't belong in Tech. we should make a Newbie area. strictly for idiots to answer idiots problems like on drifting.com

why dont you just buy one of those cold air intercooler looking things they sell?? or you know what maybe sell your 240 and get a honda >> maybe a nice civic or an integra and start over

Since no one seems to want to explain it, basically it is pointless. The reason for an IC is that compressed air (from a turbo or supercharger) heats up (it is a basic law of Physics: PV=nRT). So since in a naturually aspirated motor, there is no increase in intake pressure, there is no need to cool the incoming air. Basically you'd be cooling ambient air with ambient air of the same temp.

Someone explained it right before you, Midtenn. But maybe you were just wanting to show us your extensive knowledge.
