no cause theres a vin # on the side of where your driver door closes....

more then likely no
chances are slim
you can always say you replaced it when it was cracked by a junkyard hunt. cops are usually ok on that, unless its a real jerk.

well depends, I got pulled over by some cops and had a dash from a junkyard that i had to use for my HUD. The cops gave me a lot of ish, even though they saw my VIN in my door and stuff. He actually told me that was illegal to swap dashes like that. But in your case you haven't swapped it you just lost it so.. ::shrug::

i would rather have nothing there... than a junkyard vin # (cops can be very gay) and say its a swaped vin also tho

Theres also the vin # under the hood on the firewall. Just in case, but I would use that as the last resort if you have the sr swap.
i have no dash vin, and no door vin. I dont even know if i have the underhood vin. I'd better stop driving this POS on the streets

Depends on what you are driving and the officer who pulls you over! :fawk2: :fawk2:

That is really dumb. I keep the dash VIN's on my car's covered, I've seen to many people get key's cut from VIN's w/o proof of ownership.

by law, you must have a correct vin # that can be seen in plain view(dash)

I'm in the process of replacing my interior and replacing the vin # on my dash is an issue. Based on the replacement dash sticking out of the car, the vin plate looks to just be pop riveted to the dash. Can't you just drill out the old pop rivets, and then pop rivet the old vin plate on it? That should be legit, right? Same vin # to the car, just a different color dash.
Just want to clarify. I don't ever figure to have the vin # checked out, but I want to do this interior swap just once and not have to remove the dash and replace it later on down the line.

i swapped out my dash..im pretty sure thats its ok to but the new vin# on as long as it belongs with the car..just drilled it out and riveted it on, looks like no one has ever touched it.
