hey I got the gt series lines from taka and some people say that the restrictor is already in there, I talked to him and he said that they are built to be about factory size and shouldnt have a problem. I even looked and there is almost some type of restriction but then he said If I feel like I need a restrictor I should get it. I dont know, how bout you guys with gt seriese turbos and taka lines, are you using the atp restrictor or no? I searched didnt find much.

Don't run one. It's a common misconception that you need one, which you don't. They can actually starve the turbo of oil. Most common reason for oil seals blowing out is bad drain line routing (which causes backup) NOT too much oil pressure. You should only run a restrictor if you're seeing over like 100psi oil pressure. If you don't believe me, call Turbonetics. I trust their turbo-related advice any day over anyone else's.

Turbonetics doesn't know our engine, or the oil pressures that are put out by it. They also don't make the garrett turbos, so they won't know the specs for the oil pressure range required. Precision turbo said a -3AN line was perfect feed.. but on a KA that's immense oil pressure, and I had smoking issues. Installed a restrictor, and it stopped.
You do not want to blow a ball bearing turbo, because it's unrebuildable. Find out what "stock size" is on the lines.. and match that diamete with the diameter of the ATP restrictor, which ATP recommends for the gt2x turbos.

hmm ok thanks i think that the oil feed is -3 so it should be fine? it is going on gt28 and sr. also you cant replace oil seals if they blow on a BB?

Cheapturbo also told me that a restrictor would not be needed.
Im still a little weary about bolting in my turbo without any sort of restrictor in the line. I will be running a -3an feed line so I might just end up making a restrictor.

You will not be fine. You need a restrictor. The only issue is that the ATP restrictor is for a -4AN line. And as far as I know.. ball bearing turbos are unrebuildable. When/if something goes, you need to buy a new CHRA.
