I heard that the K&N did not perform well because of the oil on the filter? The post i saw didn't go into much detail, but i was wondering if there was any truth to that statement?
Also, what year sentra or g20 has the same MAF as the s14 sr20; or what k&n filter will fit the s14sr maf?
thanks!

I didn't believe it til my friend had cleaned his K&N about 5 times or so (only needs to be done annually, or sooner if it's really dust where u r). His idle went to crap and started surging. We found that, among other things, the MAFS stuffs had some kind of sludge buildup on it (along with everything else in the area). After cleaning the throttle body, TPS stuff, MAF stuff, etc all was fine again.
I'd just go with the Apex Power Intake, it's the best all around, and u don't have to clean it (non-oil type).
I personally have used GReddy power suction thingy (crap), HKS megaflow foamy thing (crap), K&N cone (not crap), and where I stopped, the Apex Power Intake (rules).

I believe most of the filters are the same, but there are cast aluminum mounts that are individual to your application. They're only $100 or so, just pick one up from a shop u trust... just the cone won't cut it unless you fab your own mount, which depending on how much u can get just the cone for, may be worth the effort.
Personally I think the application specific kit is the way to go, even if it costs you more, as it just looks professional, much nicer than any other intake kit I've had (everyone else is either plastic, or just cheap looking).

K&N filters are a great filter(s) to invest in. The oil that is used on the filters is to retain the quality in the fabric used to filter dirt/dust, etc. The oil is for after cleansing. There is no major issue with it at all degrading the quality of the filter itself, many JDM engines are running more effciently because of them, even over the Blitz, HKS,& Trust filters, which are all prefrence filters. . .

On the topic of Apexi Power Intake, buy Mine, slightly used D1 edition really signed by Immamura for $50.
