Sorry if this a noob question. Anyways, I had my car jacked up the other day and was just scoping things out after I put my summer rims back on and was playing with the slave cylinder, and are you supposed to be able to easily move that piston thing (I'm not sure of the actual name of it) with your fingers? Thanks.

yes, as long is doesn't leak its fine. I just changed mine cause it was hard to put into gear. Next to that, if you want to change it, its easy and cheap. around $20 bucks for a new one at napa, pep boys etc.

i would recommend getting an oem one. i got the cheap $11 autozone shit, and it started leaking on me two months later.

pull back the dust boot, if it is wet in there, replace it.
I used a couple shims and was able to install a Z32 slave cylinder on my S13. Do not try w/o the shims (unless you grind the bell housing) or the slave cylinder will break. It worked on my friends KA S14 w/o grinding or shims.

Thanks. ^^^ I believe the z31 slave cylinders bolt directly to the ka housing without any modifications. If I replace the sc I might try that.

Think a new slave cylinder and a new line will stop the damn squeaking coming from it? The squeaking not coming from the pedal itself I mean.

the z31's will bolt directly on. i'm running that now; even though there has been some speculation that this is the same as the nismo unit, i feel no difference in pedal stiffness. i'm running the n/a unit, though, not a turbo one.

I went for the turbo Z32 (i think I went for a 92, that would be a Z32, correct?), I didn't measure the bore, but I can do that if someone knows the bore diameter of the NisMo unit.
