Hey guys the reason why im posting this topic is because I need some help trying to figure out which mods I schould buy for my 240SX(Hatch). I have a little over a grand and I really dont want to continue to save for the SR20 because im not ready yet for all that power so getting an SR swap schould just wait for now. I have the intake set and done and for the exhaust im just going to buy a universal cat and make a custom straight exhaust. But im just curious what else should I consider buying for my 240. Well guys i really need you're imput cuz saturday is just around the corner and I want to get things that will make a signifficant change to the car.

strut bars, sway bars, coilovers, strut/spring combo, etc. There's a whole lot of stuff you could buy, but 1 grand isnt exactly alot of cash. I'd probally go MR coilovers, ebay strut tower bars, save a few hundred more, then get some sway bars.

KTS coilovers VIA SPL.

that will make it significantly better but you still need bushings, ruca, strut braces, and all sorts of stuff.

I agree with everyone else, defineately go with suspension parts....but also you could look into a header, brake upgrades, and other things.

priorities: (well mine anyways)

1. suspension (coilovers, strut bars, braces)
2. brakes (doesnt hafta be $... maybe some performance pads like axxis ultimates)
3. Tires (you wont regret it).. sure it wont be bling bling but itll dramatically change performance
4. rims (you cant be ugly all the time)
5. power

I like this attitude. I wish I had it when I first got my car.

Go for the 'cheap' goods. Put off coilovers till you're ready for a serious suspension investment. Coilovers pretty much force you to buy a diff if you want to get into any socal driveways (or gas stations) and buy a few arms to get your alignment right........

Brakes are always a MUST on every 240. This has saved my ass a few times and I drive like a grandma and not a jackass.

Extended tie-rods make driving much much much better.

Rear sway bars are nice... go cheap. A bar is a bar is a bar.

You NEED, and I repeat NEED a quality (defi/greddy) water temp gauge. 100 buckaroos no sweat. This will save you so much money in cooling system BS.

Nismo thermostat is 50$ at perf nissan.

Subframe Spacers are cheap and make a HUGE difference. 80 big ones.

15$ of energy suspension swaybar endlinks(rear and bushings front) also make a nice difference.

All that stuff your car will feel like a different car.

Then the following would be nice in this order...
Radiator
RUCA's
LSD
Coilovers
SR

The big stuff is last because it's the biggest commitment and the most headaches. If you change your mind you can...

But for now I would stick with the bang for your buck mods until you run out of options.

imo
diff
hicas/jdm rear sway
coilovers
tc rods
subframe spacers
good seat
brake upgrade (rotors, pads, lines, calipers)
s14 tie rods (beeefier directy bolt in)

that should be more then enough for sometime.

I'd suggest you do a lot more reading/research and figure out what you need and suits your purposes for your car. Don't just go buying some parts because someone told you so.. you really need to understand what each one does and then you can decide for yourself what you want. Although I'd agree suspension is the way to go, even with coilovers/shocks/struts there's so many different brands and setups that you should find one that will suit your driving style and not just go MR coilovers or KTS just because someone said so.
