I heard chickens squealing last night so i removed my turbo and manifold off of my redtop SR, took only 45 minutes, second time i have ever done it.
The purpose of this post is to ask what would be the best method for keeping it so the nuts don't back off of the turbo to manifold:
Grade 8 Lockwashers
Grade 8 hightemp nuts
high tem locktite
or should i go to www.stage8.com
and spend $30 on four fasteners?
either way i have to wait awhile cuz NOBODY has the inlet gasket i need. not to mention two bolts broke off in the exhaust housing of the turbo :(

Allen head 'header' bolts/studs from tend to work best....I believe Hedman has them in the correct Nissan size...

45 min?? That's pretty damn fast. You using airtools? I've done it twice and it still takes a couple hours.. oh wait, you mean just removing it right? Then that sounds about right.. damn, that reminds me.. got to do that this week too.

It took me 5 hours to get the turbo and manifold off given it was my first time messing with the SR motor.
Here she is after we called it a day.

The lock plates from the factory suck.
Esp. if your car is lowered and you have aftermarket front pipe.
stage8 lock nuts work like a charm. Or tack weld it.
Locktite and lockwashers wont work.
This topic has come up several times (with the same answers as above)... did you try searching first?

tack welding seems to hold well, however i could only fit 7 of 8 exhaust manifold studs back on WTF :(
and one is stripped for sure, fucking aluminum block!

I have had success using double nut method w/ SS low profile nuts.
