It's lip type design. flat, stepped, etc

Yes they clear Z-brakes. They have the taller hubs in the front.

I had them on my car with z-brakes and only ran a 5mm spacer up front because the tires (235 front) were close to the coilovers (if I remember correctly they did not rub, but very close). But they did clear the z-brakes fine without the spacer because of the raised disks.
