front clips (am i getting ripped off)

right so i am gonna put a sr in a 240, and im looking at front cliip prices. &nbsp;some are 1600 some are 3000. &nbsp;and then other sites are selling just the engine and tranny and stuff used for 2200. &nbsp;so is the more expensive front clip actually more likely to be in better shape or is it just priced that high cuz they know it will sell?<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'> &nbsp;also is a blacktop really worth it, the only difference i can tell is that it is newer than the redtops???

oh and im gonna sound like a retard for saying this but im 6'7" will i fit in a s13 w/ a sunroof? how bout w/out one?? &nbsp;

First off, you'd be more likely to fit in one w/ a sunroof than w/o.

Second, if you are talking about an S13 blacktop, the only differences are: The blacktop is newer, and has a different colored valve cover. &nbsp;That is it. &nbsp;No, it does not justify the extra money.

As far as the websites selling cheaper clips and all of that, ask them all a lot of questions. &nbsp;Ask them to tell you EVERYTHING that is included. &nbsp;Some sites say they are complete, and then do not include the MAFS or the Power Steering, etc. &nbsp;Just so you know, most will not include the downpipe, even if it is a clip. &nbsp;Ask them if the motors are compression and leak tested. &nbsp;If they are, then there should not be a problem at all with quality, therefore the cheaper company may just be saving you money.

That's really all there is to it.

well THERE is a difference. if you are talklin about an s13 blacktop those came in the 180sx in 94-96. BUT if you are talkin about an s14 blacktop then the difference is that the s14 blacktop came with variable valve timing and a low port head design. but if you are just talkin about the s13 blacktop then the only difference is what car it came in and when.

oh and a lot of times the price depends on miles on the motor and if it comes with body panels or not. plus the lrger importers are gonna havelower prices than the small guys. the 2 best i have seen are infinitemotorsports.net and tpautomotive.com
