I have a zenki and im peicing toghther a turbo kit for it...but im running into a delema. Ive been reading that if you run a FMIC you have to ditch your fog lights. I know this isn't ture b/c i see plenty of ppl with fmics' that still have their fogs. So my question to you guys is this...if i run a fmic, what size does it have to be(LxWxH) so i won't have to take off my fog lights ? Thanks in advanced!

I just finished doing this on my car. The problem is not really the size of the intercooler, it's where the piping will run. I cut the front portion of the frame rails off, the 'horns', and then had to cut and weld the outlets at a 45 degree angle to pass behind the foglamps. With the bumper cover off you can easily see what's required to make it work. The other option is to have the outlets higher up and pointing back, you can then cut the core support on either side of the radiator and run straight back. I've fitted clear lens with 4300K HIDs in my fogs so I wasn't about to loose them.

is the total length of your piping 30inches or 28inches?

The smaller systems will allow you to retain the fog lamps over the larger (ARC/HKS/BlitZ/TrusT) US available series of FM's. If you try to run a race type or anything over one/two row cooling panel base of the FM then you will need to change to after market bumper larger mouth housing. . . You still plan to retain the stock bumper or go aftermarket? If aftermarket, you will have to remount them, build brackets & such.

can you give me some demeisions? "big" is too broad of a term? What is the biggest size FMIC i can use and still keep my fogs?

That's the intercooler I run (on a '96 SE), and you have to remove (or relocate) the stock fog lights for the intercooler piping to fit.
In that pic, it looks like they were moved out an inch or so each...see how the trim piece is not touching the bumper?

I see. What if the IC was flipped upside down? would it fit then. If it was flipped, the piping would be above the fog lights, right?

then you would need some super duper piping job.. and that would be hard cuz ur gonna have more bends.
Just do a V mount intercooler setup. DONE!

yea V mount or duel side mind intercoolers.
but if you want it front mount buy a nice big one and a dremel with it.
just cut that damn bumper. you can make anything fit.
also i dont see why your fog lights are in the way?

A Greddy/HKS/Blitz core turned upside will cut into the headlights.

I didn't touch my foglights on my '96 SE.. FMax intercooler piping. But the FMax intercooler outlets come out at a ~15* swept back angle, not straight out like aftermarket intercoolers.

Well i have the HKS Type S front Mount, pretty big, but you need to cut the re-enforcement bar out like mine if you want better pics of the piping and stuff i'll get them if you want. I think i could still fit fog lights on mine if i wanted too. But now that the license plate is over where the one would be, i said fug'em!!
