Damn headlights wont go down, i checked the switch, the stalk on the steering column. they go UP but don't go down.. does anyone know what could be the cause? I think the motors are fine, it would be kind of odd if both motors broke in the headligihts

well it's definately a wiring problem between the steering column and the motors. Get the wiring diagram from the tech page and start troubleshooting the wires. If you want them down for the time being, just turn the adjustment knobs.

this has been a topic 100 times... no one has solved this problem. I have the same problem as you. Mine worked for the longest time, then all of the sudden out of nowhere they both stopped going down. The motors are obviously fine, since they do still flip up. I've changed all the relays in mine, changed all the relays in my friend's who has the same problem, and it doesn't fix the problem. I've also changed the stalk on the steering column, and that didn't work. Good luck, I'm not too concerned anymore about it since I have a silvia front end waiting to go on... If you figure it out let me know (

MIGHT be something with the button thats to the left of the steering wheel. I did the sleepy eye mod by pulling that switch out, and snipping one wire. Now whenever i hit the switch, they go up, but not down till i hit it again so i can control it... Maybe that switch got shorted or something and is only in the position where the lights stay up...
just a guess...

My friend had this problem with his 240 when he first got it as well. We figured it out on his. There should be a little black box like thing next to each light. There is some sort of plug that plugs into one of the holes. On my friends 240, one of them was bad, so we changed it with a good one and it worked fine. I believe this is how it should be done, but it has been a while since we did it.

But both of his are bad. Both of mine went bad at the same time. So it can't be a problem that is individual to each light, it has to be something that affects both of them at the same time...

Well when only one of my friends was bad and for some reason neither of them would go down. :tweak: But when he replaced one they both started goin up and down no problem, but this was over a year ago, so i could be leavin some things out.

the headlight switch could be bad. It helps control when the lights go up and down.

I too had this problem, but, after extensively searching, found the solution. For some reason, the lever switch on the steering column goes bad.
Hope that helps,
Matt

my flip lights dont go down anymore too.... i was just trying to do sleepy eyes and now both of them wont go down but stay up. even if i use the knob to put them down they automatically go back up. could it be the headlight up and down switch?

What does it says? THe time control unit is a white box and is complemented with a black one that is located on the same spot.
Still have it?
I am looking for one!
