I just picked up a used Sparco Sprint off a friend for dirt cheap and I'm trying to fit it into the driver side of my S13 hatch. It came with the rail for a DC2 Integra and that's not going to work no way no how. But I figure I can still use the slider rails. Now, I was told by a shop that I would need an adapter and 240 specific rails. I thought they were one in the same, but maybe I'm mistaken? They also told me that this set up would be too high for a normal S13, and I could go with side mounts which would be lower, but still really high. I'm a tall guy, abour 6'3, but I fit in the car fine now and have some play for head room. I have yet to track drive the car and so I don't know if I have room for me and a helmet in there, but I would hope so. I read some people used custom fabed mounts, but I have no wear around here that does that. I daily drive the car so I haven't had enough time to see if the factory rails will work with the Sparco slider, or just use the whole factory slide assembly with modification. Does anyone know what I'll need to do to fit this seat into my car comfortably?
Here's what the bottom of the seat looks like, just so you can get an idea of what I'm working with:

89-98 share the same bracket. www.wedgeengineering.com

iirc the bride fits most four bolt applications. havent looked into it too much, so i could be wrong...theres a seat set up thread and i believe a person used a sprint/speed in a fastback...look it up...

I have that same seat in my civic. No you shouldn't do side mount rails. It will mount the seat higher. Also, not sure if you have enough support on the bottom of the seat as mine you sag when I sat in it and I only weigh 135lbs. The sparco mounting brackets for that seat is the flat tabbed iirc. Just buy the correct bracket for it online. Should be around $65-$100.

you just need the adapter rail and an ebay accout
seat sits so high in s13 its ridiculous
sell it on ebay unless you go custom rail setup, then id keep it, but even then is questionable.
yea i used to own on about 3 years ago in my s13.
sold it as soon as i could get a decent reclinable seat ...meaning s14 seats which was a upgrade over that seat.

Problem with the S13 and sliders is that we have the huge hump on the inside by the shifter. It forces any slider mounted more then 1/2 way past the middle of the seat to sit too high. OEM Seats have a cutout for the slider and sit your butt below the inside slider. NON-OEM setups ussually put the slider in the very middle of the seat at the same height as the outside slider. You then build a extension over the the inside of the seat to attach the slider to the seat. I did this on my seat and it works fine. A couple people make these "Low Profile" type sliders already. Bride is one of them. You can then adapt your seat to that slider setup if you like. Freshalloy.com has a couple threads that are helpfull if you like. I have a couple pics in my gallery over at sr20forum.com that you can go take a look at.

well first off do a search cause there is 4 pages on this subject. 2 if you want to sit real low (or lower) you will need the bride fg seat rails. they are side mounted so your seat can sit lower.

yeah thats great
you have no clue even with the search
FG is for SIDE MOUNT buckets
this is abottom mount bucket
unelss you like to mount your seat to a rail by cloth then go your route. :hahano:
recap: fg + sprint = no worky worky.
fgs: see how has hole on the fiberglass body of the bucket shell? yes sits lower
his is bottom mount

Does anyone have the ability to get me or sell me one of these "custom" lower mounts? Other than that I think my only option is to modify the stock bracket, or get some sort of super low bottom mount, if I can find one. Still kinda confusing.
