Bedding in new brake pads and rotors (specific question)

I know the general procedure for bedding in new brake pads. It's essential to get maximum braking torque and during the process, and trasfers thin film onto the rotor which aids in friction and rotor/pad life.

The thing is, on the Brembo blank rotor boxes, there is a caution that for 150-200 miles, there shouldn't be any hard braking at all.

So should I drive with new pads and rotors very gently for the first 150 miles, then bed them in? or bed them in straight out?

I'm concerned because I just want maximum life and performance.

i always bed mine right away...or else the 150 miles will bed them already right?

well, the bed-in procedure usually involves bringing the temp of the pads high enough to remove some unwanted material (dunno what that is exactly, but I know it's there).

Anyway, mostly likely I will just bed the pads and rotors immediately. I'd appreciate more responses though, thanks.

i have brembo blanks.

i bedded them about half a mile after i installed them.

i've had 'em for over a year now.

no warpage or anything. just make sure you bed properly, and let it cool down after.

just an update, i bedded the pads/rotors in today. im pretty speechless, all I can say is REAL race pads stop insanely well after many 60->10 stops and 80->10 mph stops

fawk yeah! during the first few 60mph and 80mph stops, felt like nothing was even happening.

Then on the second round of stops after cooling the rotors down....i felt like i was bout to get thrown outta the car! I had to literally brace myself to stay in my seat.

This all on whatever crappy tires he's running! Can't wait for him to throw on some Azenis Sports and REALLY try to stop.

Hmmm..Imagine your car in the winter when it'll take a bit more effort to stop from a cold start. EEk..or the hard bite of a "warmed" up pad in the rain.

Still debating if I want aggressive pads on the street during the winter. But I guess, now isn't the time to worry about that stuff. :)

i will be running porterfield R4-S on the street and track, and let ya guys know how that is when i get them on
