Just got my r32 GTR grill from japan the other day. Grill that goes between s13 projecters. It was tan or beige so I flat blacked it for the time being, but it looks real good black. My car is two tone, silver up top....dark grey on bottom. Just looking for some opinions on if I should go flat black, or silver to match the upper half of the car. Toss me a line, let me know what color you'd paint it.

Definitely black. I'm of the opinion that body colored grills are almost always bad news.

a good spray can job on small parts goes a long way. blacker is better.

Grill?
BBQ black if its Weber. If it goes inbetween your headlights take it out. Problem solved.

well single stage is fine for a while but it doesn't have near the shine of basecoat clearcoat. thats because it can't and when it dulls the PAINT dulls, not the clearcoat, so you're screwed.
i have a couple trim parts painted with a very lustrous duplicolor black. they are right next to my roof whcih is basecoat clearcoat. the difference is night and day.
perhaps the reason for the difference isnt the type of paint but the mode of application...i donno if aerosol cans will do the same job as a proper spray gun...

bad up keep.. wax and random polish will do the trick............... i painted my crx single stage red........... and it stands out like a sore thumb......its all about up keep and random polishes.....

dude, there is no way in hell a single stage color can compete with a dual stage. the clearcoat gives it more physical and artistic depth LITERALLY. single stage is shiny and everything and can look good for a long time if you take care of it but it can't compete with more sophisticated processes.
yeah, i definately agree with Makoto 100%
but i think in certain cases, it can still look very good
