I was wondering whether certain aftermarket parts bought for a KA can be used on an SR20. I am having problems deciding between 240 and FC3S (rx-7) and would like to know what I can do with a 240. I wont get an engine swap right away cuz i dont have tha cheddar. But if I bought certain aftermarket parts for the 240 could I then use them on the SR20? I would assume certain engine dress up like spark wires, iridium spark plugs, etc would work...but what about things like exhaust headers, etc. The intake is on the opposite side so I doubt that will work too well but I need some ideas. Pictures would help but I know alot about both engines so I will kinda know what your talkin bout.

Well your KA24DE is a non-turbo engine. The SR20DET is a turbo engine.
So with that in mind your after market intake will not work, your after market header will not work. If you purchase exhaust for your car now, you will want to either get a turbo or non turbo application. If you dont plan on doing the engine swap tell sometime in the winter and get turbo exhaust for your KA now, then you could have expensive exhaust which gives you no performance gain if not hurts your air flow. Also its going to sound like sh*t. Second if you get non-turbo based exhaust then you will be getting a new exhaust setup again once you do the swap.
Some people have said the apexi dual n1 is a good application for both turbo and non turbo applications. So if your set on getting exhaust now then you might want to get the dual n1.
Now the intake, well some people say its only 200 bucks and you could always sell it on ebay when you do your swap, Well im poor so im not game for that. Some people have done a KN setup with custom pipe for cold air and have been happy with it. So that might be sufficant tell you get the SR. Remember is a turbo, meaning its going to have a intercooler so there is a whole different piping setup.
Now you might want to put a lot of time into reading up on the SR20 swap. Its more then just dropping in a engine.
Personally I want to do the sr swap so bad it keeps me up at night thinking about it. BUT... I mean a BIG BUT, there are other things you should probably mod on your car first. Like suspension(IE shocks, struts, and sway bars), clutch, flywheel, gauges, and brakes.
Hope this helps.
Might want to pick up the latest SCC cause it has like three decent sized articals on the 240. One pertaining to the SR swap. Also has a ton of shit on rallying so I had to get it.

Aftermarket: motor mounts...exhaust...I'm pretty sure that's it.
As far as regular parts go, the alternator is the same, and the A/C compressor can be used with a little modification...
